Oh yeah I remember. He actually tried to pull a fast one on everyone one last time but failed miserably. Claimed he was poor while taking a vacation to Japan.

I bought my first high power 1W laser from him. Didn't he also go by the name Joker?
I only had 532's and a 301 red laser at the time.
The beam was awful and never tight and I tried every lens I had. I just thought thats how rhese 1, 2, 3 W's were. It got worse and worse over time and could barely scorch a popsicle stick anymore.. It just was a wide faded blur..

A little time later Rich built me a PLTB450B1 "1.6W" What a nice tight beam even with the G2 lens.
Then Rich built me a M140 build.
Mind you I was very new to lasers. The M140 also put a nice beam and the Sci Fi build was suppose to have a M140 also but had that awful beam.
I kept asking Rich if he put a PLTLb450B1 diode in the M140 build by mistake because the beam was so much better than the Sci Fi M140.
Put Rich through **ll by asking. I did tell Rich I was just as happy with the PLTB450B1 if it was a mistake..

I kept looking at the diodes glass on the Sci Fi build and it looked ok, to me at least.
I sent it to Rich and he found the diodes glass to be bad. He decanned it and it fixed the beam issue. Although like I had said there were no markings on it and was heavily used plus all the other ruthless disgusting cheap parts.
This Joker Dumpster dived to look for parts.. If you see the pics of his laser insides you would truly believe me.
Barely used solder and would squeeze no strand steel AC wire to make polarity connections.

The Joker posted a picture of his I think Jetta that was all modded. I mean top top notch after market parts like twin turbos, huge intercoolers, laptop controlled ignition and air/fuel mixture etc. and upgraded completely swapped out suspension and tires to match.
Easily at least $30,000+++ worth, i'm probably low balling it and the top notch plumbing!! not the car, thats a whole other deal :whistle: but parts on our money. Then his pics with his partner at Euro Disney.

My bad man, those have been there since i signed up. I’ll take them down. I honestly didn’t even remember I did that.

I remember the car he posted, Many people complained about the lasers he was selling the stop turning on i fix 2+ where the wires just came off from funny looking drivers i replaced the driver and wires and ship it back to members i also replaced 1 diode for one member where the diode was a A140 and he sold it as M140 😵‍💫

He did use the name Joker. Sorry you had this issue. I built all my own lasers and never got anything from him but some lenses and a couple hosts. Mine were fine. I'm glad he's gone.

Wow!! I wish I held onto some of those! I forgotten all about a couple of them. I still think about that last one ehgemus built for me.

Interesting project!
but at first look, it is concerning though. I have so many questions! haha.
you can PM me the details, I might be able to help not only with a mechanical thing but also might be able to create a new driver solely to control the target temperature (maximizing battery life by not powering the TEC at maximum power every time)
