[Holding] New G7 lens GB with 9mm/8.8mm holder

I'm not quite sure how that's done.

Just measure how big the dots are from e.g 10m from two different lenses when focused to infinity.

I suggest compare my G7 to the 3 element lens first. :yh:

btw what is that MP9 lens from ebay? Could you give me a link or description something?

we might have to run some comparison tests with this "mp9" lens in detail too, looks like it does well with maximum power

Well as I thought about it (and seeing Lighting Stalkers post) I figured that it would be safe to do a quick LPM test of the lens against a few others.

Laser used was a Blord 2.5w 445nm 501b
lenses used 3 element, G9, G2, MP9, and this new G7 from Podo

If that is a G-2 there is something terribly wrong with it maybe dirty. They have the same pass as the G-9.:)

I think your right. I will re test soon. That lens did suffer a semi big gun powder explosion about 1 inch in front of it a week before and I haven't cleaned it yet. I should know better sorry

Edit: I am pulling the test video until I can re test these.

These are simillar to my S1 lens. We get them from the same supplier.

I just get them for like $3 per pc.
Well your missing out on some sales and profits cause I know people that buy these and other lenses that cost more and are no better. Do you sell things or just a made to order business

starlight, I got the lens you sent me and have been checking it for divergence. I checked it against my S1 lenses on the M140 and the 9mm laser diodes and can't find an improvement over these lenses at 30 meters with these diodes. I also tried to use it with my ML501P73-02 635nm 1 watt laser and couldn't get it to focus. I believe that the problem might be that the copper module I used is not deep enough to get the lens positioned far enough away from the laser diode. I have another one that I am waiting for the host for. I am hoping that I will be able to get that one to focus and then can test the divergence between the two and a three element lens.

IN case if you are referring my G7:

I personally cut the G7 holder in half using a saw because it blocked my waterproof lens. I guess it's a bit long the one supplier installed.

Still only starlight tested for its output against others lenses but no divergence test to be done yet, I'm hoping thejoker301 didn't forget this lens I sent him and conduct the divergence test from what he said.:(

I wasn't sure I could do the tests correctly so I sent it to another member who helped me in the past with a lens (I don't forget). I think thejoker301 forgot about this, he said he would do the test Monday and it's now Friday.

I managed to check the convergence on my ML501P73-02 laser by holding the lens out slightly from the module and the divergence is better than the other single element lenses I tried it against ( G2, G9, S1, Techhood lens ). It is better than these, but not as good as the three lens assembly. I didn't check power yet. If the power is about the same as other single element lenses, then it is probably worth while. If not, I'd stick to the three lens assembly.
