Hi, new to forum and lasers

Hey all. I found this forum searching Google for how to build a laser. There's a lot of information here and I like it. I'm a senior in computer engineering so I'm not new to elecrronics, just lasers. For >1 year I have wanted to build a laser after seeing one made out of a tiny mag lite pop a balloon. I've decided to build one following a diy I found here and hope to be safe with it. It uses the local-815 diode.

This OS kind of long, just saying hello. i mainly just lurk and don't ask questions unless I am in dier need of an answer.

That's one thing I'm afraid of. Right now all I want is 1 laser but who knows what I'll end up with on down the road.

You would be surprised at how many people don't make that assumption; so after a while you just get in the habit of saying that to everybody that's new.
