If you are looking for your first laser search forum for trusted companies. You can also contact some member for experience with that laser as a lot of people have these lasers in their signature. For beginners who want first high powered laser I would recommend something like 100 mW greenie not more. I made quite a mistake by going for 800 mW rated (in reality it is about 1 W) as my first. It was scary and dangerous... With 100 mW you have just a lot of fun and a nice beam. And get proper safety glasses and study laser safety before you decide for your first.

30 Watts in a pointer sounds like a scam.

I found a 10 Watt Green pointer advertised online in a local classified add. And for only $200 US. I emailed the poster asking what it's real output was. No Reply...

This is by far a scam for the reasons others have already explained. And again that 10w is also a scam too.
Currently the highest power diode (NUBM44) is close to 7W. The 30w 445nm is around 1w and the 10w 532nm is around 100mw. Nowhere near their specified power for them both.

At least the 10,000mw and the 200mw ones say they are a Max of 5mw output. This one doesn't give true output. No doubt its less than 5mw also.

That 100w is by far the most extreme case of Chinese overstating I have seen to date. What's next 1kW green? Even laser noobs will have to begin realising that their claims are unrealistic eventually.
To put things in perspective, just walking into a room with a 100w 532nm laser hitting a wall would be bright enough to cause eye damage.
