Hi, I have a loc 815 diode with a DDL driver and I have some questions. When i was measuring the curent the diode burnt out. I think it is because i hooked up the power first and forgot to short out the capacitor:yabbem: . I cant think of any other reason. so im getting another diode and will be more careful. Does anyone have any suggestions?:anyone:

Dont connect your multimeter straight to the diode, youll fry it and also just becareful before connecting it up, discharge yourself from ESD and short out your capacitor and resistor etc.

Also it might be worthwhile to invest in a testload.

how do you do you measure curent without conecting it directly to the diode. and why not conect it to the diode

you have to use a test load with a digital multimeter to measure your current

also you have to short out your driver before connecting it because it might be storing energy within.....

want any more info feel free to PM me
