^I'm with niko on this.. I don't think that the pot needs to be physically identical as long as the shaft size is the same and it is a 10k. given that it's a mod wheel, I'd think linear would be ideal.

Well it's not that it takes 30 seconds to change the pot its that i was trying to figure out which pot to replace it with. cause this thing was made in 1985 so it is really old.

Last I knew, a 103 B indicates a 10 K Ohm Linear taper pot. An audio taper might act wierd in this application.

okay now the last thing i am stumbled upon is the shaft type. It has to have the little indent for the plastic wheel to stay secure. the radio shack one is a smooth all round shaft, how would i make it fitt ?

You go at it with a saw, dremel, pickaxe, hammer, laser or Chuck Norris, and MAKE it fit

Looks like you got a pretty good match on the eBay one, anyway.

The "B" means linear taper. I have never seen a log taper unless it is audio taper which compresses the resistance at one end. This isn't laser science.

Just take the plastic wheel to where you're buying the pot and try and make it fit.
