Hey, so I got my driver hooked up to a power source (2 10440 batteries) for a 405nm diode, and I got the test load hooked up (resistor to positive output and negative to first diode) and I don't know why there isn't a reading on my multimeter. (BTW which setting should I use? 2000m?) anyways, what am I doing wrong? Should I use less than 6 rectifier diodes? The driver outputs 4.6 volts.

That might be your problem, depending on the orientation of your diodes.
They only let current through one way, you know that's just what diode do...

BTW I tried the other way too... same issue I wonder why...

I suppose you are measuring the voltage between left and right of the resistor.
How is everything hooked up, exactly, how's your DMM set and where do you put the probes?

Its set at 200M and I put the probes in between the resistor like so

+o+ the o is the resistor and downward lines are the probes

You should set it to 200miliVolt instead.

Is your circuit even complete?
Does the resistor warm up?
Couldn't you put a lightbulb from the car in the circuit, see if it lights up?

I'm sorry Anselm, I know I'm a noob, but hey I'm trying. The multimeter is set to 200 millivolts.

I don't know if the circuit is complete, but it should be because I got the diodes and resistor connected to the driver fully, but for some reason the resistor doesn't heat up...

And can I actually use a bulb or something to test it?

For all I know you could have the diodes backwards, they have a mark on the negative side.
That MS Paintjob there is worthless because it doesn't show the diodes orientation.

Please use a a led or a bulb (any low voltage, like from your car interior or from a maglight)
to check if anything is happening at all.

Btw the negative sides are pointing towards the resistor... and I can't check right now because my batteries are dead. Thanks though and since the resistor isn't heating up I think something else is wrong possibly

if his multimeter is set to 200mV, then anything over 200mA would just show up as "1" on his DMM correct?
