Help Me Build My Next Laser!

Oh okay, so THIS charger will cut itself off as to not overcharge the batteries?

I would buy a universal charger, so you don't have to buy a new charger every time you get different batteries. I just realised i have 16340 batteries, i always though i had 18350s :o That is a good thing though because the host i got takes one 16340 battery.

I hve the top charger you linked, i got it from DX though. It's pretty good, wel as good as a charger gets :p

Thanks for the links :)

Also guys, I still have a spare 30mW 12mm module lying around, if I bought THIS pen host and put 2 AAA batteries in, would it work fine?

It will work fine. I told you not to rip apart that torch ;) One thing i don't like about pens is that you have to push the button harder over time to get maximum power (this could just be the cheap modules and ebay pens though).

That host should work fine but check out that shipping. They are charging an insane amount hoping you don't notice. IMO find another seller. I'm not a fan of pen hosts though so I can't really recommend any.

IDK about other people but that link isn't working for me. There are also several torch hosts that are slightly larger that allow the use of 18650s. That's more of my style. Better heatsinking and a superior power source means better runtimes. I guess if you goal is size that's a good way to do it but I have seen some damn small 16340 hosts for green modules.

I just said penhost because I thought it would be the cheapest, doesn't really matter to much to me.

Cheech, i just noticed i have a neg rep from you. May i ask why you neg reped me? It just says bigger is not always better in the comment.

Who's Cheech? I don't see his name here. Could you maybe do this via PM? :)

Just check my rep and you will see. It seems unfair to me but i want to know his reason.

He neg repped you because of this post:
That is a better post, rather than "link me the stuff i need." You don't really have to get a glass lens for that power level. If you are looking for about 100mW, i would get the driver set to 200mA. It seems like a waste though, you could have 300mW of red in your hands. If you have good safety glasses you shouldn't be scared. You should still respect it, but not be scared.

There is no link there. In the comment of the neg rep he said bigger isn't better. I think he is referring to when i said it seems like a waste though. There is no use complaining about it. I can't reverse it.
