Help Decide

Jet lasers is a great company by all means. But optotronics still has me hooked. There are meany things unlike about the rpls such as the ability to change the output and it has awesome beam specs. But all options are open and my final dessicion will only be made when I have the funds. Thanks for that great reply BTW!

I agree with hak. JL is an awesome company. My JL Ti-B 161mW has the tightest, most beautiful beam of any laser I've seen with my own eyes. Plus, since hak has some in stock, you can have it in days instead of weeks, plus no customs.

hak, how good are the beam specs on the ti b 150 mw? is alignment good? Beam divergence? And can you focus it? Also at 150 mw it should be as bright as my 445 1.4 watt laser correct? very interested in this laser. thanks

specail sale 7 days ONLY -first 3 to PM and ready to pay will get these shiped out today..

Kinda hard to find anything about the Ti-Bs that would be a neg.. very smooth focus- not sloppy at all- I have seen maybe 20 of them (12 here in stock btw) and never fond one with a crooked beam.
super divergence- and while thinner as easy to see the beam as most 445s.
The 150mW is a fast burner if you like that sort of thing- & I think it does this because of not only the power but also because the beam is so very thin..(concentrated)

So far only one has needed to be returned and it was due to a tiny flaw in the knurling and had nothing to do with the laser-- output...just the outside of the host. It was sent back and a VERY nice VERY overspec replacement was quickly sent.
I have gotten about equal pro and neg comments about the attack crown-- some say the edges are too sharp while some say the edges are nice and sharp-- you can smooth the sharpness away with the right abrasive tool.
Its meant to be very sharp..why else would it be called a 'attack crown'
Push it against a cardboard box & you get the idea- VERY sharp edges for sure.

Some also are not 100% happy with the somewhat unique taik cap 'switch' as it is not like many others- no 'clicking' at all-you just tighten the tail cap until the laser comes on- to go to momentary you simply lossen just until the laser stops them press the button on the tail cap. One vet actually was able to swap out this tai lcap switch and went with a click style one- AFAIK however it was no long able to be used as a momentary switch. when you are done using it just loosen the tail cap a full turn and its off.

There must be many dozens of pics(See blords) at LPF showing the Ti-Bs- recent changes include the use of two larger batteries- the 16650 and the 17650= they give a longer run time before needing to be recharged..
be right back with some links- I am running a few special deals just for the next 7 days on TiBs 532- both100mW and 150mW.
