See my post above for answer to 1. 2. You would know this if you had read the stickies and comprehended it all, but the essential reason is that red and violet are diode lasers whereas yellow, "true" blue and green are all "DPSS" - and use IR and crystals to make their colour. If this doesn't make sense to you, I learned this without asking any questions, you can do the same. Green is a "better" colour (for pointing - eyes more sensitive) and the crystals are simpler, so you can buy green modules which do the hard bits for you. 3 has been covered. 4. Not easy to say, but the damage is roughly proportional to the power, for an exposure of a set duration. Pretty logical?
