Hello people.

See my post above for answer to 1. 2. You would know this if you had read the stickies and comprehended it all, but the essential reason is that red and violet are diode lasers whereas yellow, "true" blue and green are all "DPSS" - and use IR and crystals to make their colour. If this doesn't make sense to you, I learned this without asking any questions, you can do the same. Green is a "better" colour (for pointing - eyes more sensitive) and the crystals are simpler, so you can buy green modules which do the hard bits for you. 3 has been covered. 4. Not easy to say, but the damage is roughly proportional to the power, for an exposure of a set duration. Pretty logical?

I have an idea: Why don't we all just stop right here, forget about this and start over.
EriiKz, the next post you make can be considered the first post of this thread. Please put forward any question you do not feel has been answered and we will try to answer or guide you in the right direction.
How does everyone feel about that?

Do you think I could get everything I need to build one of these for UNDER 40 dollars? Any recommended tutorials for total noobs on building a green/violate/blue? You think I could make it? .

I search for "building laser tutorial"

Result:

sticky: compiled list of tutorials (a thousand of tutorials answering your questions there)

What's the difference between building a red one and a yellow one?

Lasersbee answered you

What's 'IR'? I've seen it in almost every tutorial and none explained what it means o_o.

Let me google that for you

look at the third result: wikipedia!

Would a 20 ~ 40 mW burn your retina in a fraction of a second like a 100 + would, or is it just a tad bit safer?

He's an immature teenager trying to teach me on morals, sorry but I doubt I can forget about this epic episode xD

Between "charliebruce" and myself your questions seem to have be
answered... but you need to read the Posts on this Thread..

[EDIT]
@ Albert... I understand you are saying... It seem he has already created his
reputation here...

I read Spyderz, those are great tips but lacks practical information IMO.
As for the compilation, I haven't seen it yet. Checking now.

@Starting over: I'm cool with that. But I don't change my character for no one; I don't respect you for doing nothing, and I don't respect you for having reps, and I don't disrespect you for not having them. People will earn my respect when I consider they're worth it, and won't if I don't. And even then, some people may consider it indifferent what I think about them.

Edit: And perhaps I am missing on many details in the guide because it's not easy to read something when you don't understand half the terms :P. That's when the acronym list comes in handy but still hard...

Has anyone seen Spyderz' tutorial? I haven't seen it recently and it was one of the best guides I've ever seen... Hold on, what's this I found?

It's a bit old but will help bucketloads.

Hey CB...

isn't that Spyderz Tutorial a Stickie....
right on the top of Tutorials, Help & Repairs....

@EriiKz... and I don't respect you because you have no respect for anyone else...
not even yourself... From what you write you probably don't respect your Parents either..
Just from these posts we can see that you are a Self Centered Snot Nosed
spoiled brat with delusions of superiority...
If you want to become a contributing member of this Forum you've taken
the wrong route.

I'm willing to start fresh... but you will need to swallow some of your pride
because your way of no respect to anyone will not work here..
