Here goes post #1.
I'll admit when I first started reading this forum, my expectation was the usual "I just want to start **** on fire!" After going through a few threads, I realized I was missing about 99.999999% of the information that I really needed.
The reason I ended up on this forum is because I found a laser (to which I found to be a lot more powerful than I originally thought as it has a key lock on the end-cap. I played with it for a while, my friends came over, and we pretty much just ran it until the battery died. I was looking for a new battery for it, and ran across this site.
After looking around, not only am I gaining a respect for what lasers are capable of (and how stupid we were for playing "tag" with this bright green laser...), but I'm actually getting into the research aspect of everything, and am pretty eager to learn about, experiment with, and hopefully one day, build my own. Of course, that's a good way's off, money and/or time wouldn't allow that right now. :cryyy:
And thank God I read stickey's before I post anything. I'll be sure not to "kick my shoes off" right away. I know where that leads... :cryyy:
Everyone have a good day, and thanks for having me! I look forward to being part of the community!
