I'm new here and I will be reading your forums since I'm also new to lasers. Somewhat other than the one dollar thing hanging from my keychain. I work as a locksmith 24/7 on call and 9am to 5pm during the day at the shop. Though I really do enjoy getting my geek on. So that is how I stumbled across this forum and figured since I'm going to be reading it I might as well join it. Hopefully with a little guiding and luck I will be able to post things of value and not just questions some day.

Welcome! What part of Florida? We have quite a few in central Florida.

Hi and welcome from down under a nice welcome post, so refreshing from what usually we get ..They need help, where can i get a laser, my laser doesn't work, where can i get a high power laser i can melt tywraps with etc ..

I'm in Citrus County, and no the only thing I might ask later is where to my a laser power meter and not get back handed. Or look in the tutorials to make one if you can with quality reliability. My main goal here is to start learning how they are made. Though yes I've seen the other welcome posts and questions. With out productive members a society fails, failing to form productive members fails the society.

Welcome to LPF! With your locksmithing skills and keen eye for intricate details, you would be a shoo-in for building your own LPM and even a custom laser soon enough! Rem the safety goggles though. Be safe and enjoy!

I love the last part of that. If you want to know a place to aquire some less "Street" knowledge of lasers search Sams Laser Faq. but besides that welcome to the forum and i hope your interest in lasers lasts.

Hello there!
I'm new too.I've been interested in lasers for about 3 years, and I decided to join this community.
GREETINGS FROM SPAIN!

WELCOME from Texas- formally lived in Florida in Bonita Springs.
There is a LPF social group for laserists from Fl.--- look for it up at the top under 'community'.

it has been a longstanding tradition here to LPM lasers free for any that ask.

Lots of great members all over Fl. and once a year there is a swell meeting in Orlando search FLEM and see the vids at YTube and follow the links-

This is the place!
make some more friends and if you have no luck with search or Sam's then please go ahead and ask- two things= many do fail at their first build- so start with parts that wont break your bank- take your time and remember ALL the 'rules'.. short all caps often-... dont over heat with your iron....-and mind the duty/rest cycles..good place for parts is AixiZ in Houston- BUY from members first- USA dealers second and elsewhere only as a last resort. GOOD LUCK- we all like to see pics but re-size to medium first-- friend req. coming

Thanks and the bad part of being a locksmith is limited time off, I'm on call 24/7 and my last day off was back in March. Though this forum should be a great way for me to learn and meet people that are great as well.

Yeah but don't you usually have a lot of time off being on call? You can just sit on LPF and learn!

I'm the only employee that knows how to do all the work, plus only locksmith in the county that touches motorcycle, transponder, new remotes, remote repair, and at the shop 40 hours a week but on here as much as I can.

Sounds like the military. The more you know how to do the less time you have to yourself.
