hello :D

indeed will go for mogans DDL setup as its proven by all the posts ive seen :D and totally recommended by everyone :gj:

my setup was based on his, the spec for the lx8383a

LX8383A-00IV datasheet pdf datenblatt - Microsemi Corporation - 7.5 A LOW DROPOUT POSITIVE REGULATORS ::: ALLDATASHEET :::

its setup like the adj regulator on page 5 fig 2, i choose this as i didnt have an lm317 because it stabilises the voltage at 3.3v (it was from an old mobo) and my wall wart to be frank, is crap, its on 4.5v but outputting around 6 with a nice 50hz humm thrown in for good measure, so will change to my nice old AT one when i get the lm317 :D

if u like i'll draw up a schematic of my circuit, but it is much the same as the figure shows.

Got it. I would definitely go the DDL route. If You can find and afford one a DC PS with adjustable current/voltage is a great thing to have around.

HI :D ty for the warm welcome :angel:

will be doing some purchasing 2day :D so hopefully get my DDL up and running,
but before i construct the DDL, i was wondering about the switch being on the positive side of the battery, would it be better holding back the electrons on the negative side so any handling wont have the potential for current to flow through me to ground?

Hi, just found nice lab psu schematic from the datasheet for my 317

the datasheet address

what do u think of the supply?
