i have an idea for a host but my neighbor is doing it for free but at his leisure... my plan for a host is to have the head be diode press fit and the driver soldered to diode. but have the head and body be a twist lock instead of actual threads. and yes same concept can be done with threads, but to me it seems better and more origional to be twist lock. So that way i can have multiple heads pre assembled and just carry those around for easy switch.

i have sewarched all over lpf and there are no measurements for a host.
so i have a switch comewhere on the host and i could make that positive conection be placeing a spring on it so that thebatery clides into the host and then touches the spring is that how it works.?
cheers

for a guy that touts being mr design guy, you arent very imaginative.... if you can design a driver i'm sure you can figure out the correct path of electrical flow.

you can make your host case positive or case negative, you are making the host you get to decide. basically if your +batt is touching your + driver then your -'s go to the host and through your switch.

Its a tube that holds a diode, switch, batteries, and driver. Get a ruler, and caliper out and figure out what will fit what you want to use for parts. Gezz man, its not rocket science.

ok tj. i will have a crack at thos tomorrow afternoon after my eXaMs and post it here.
one thing has anyone seen Euadiomniums(spelt wrong) new blu ray laser? how did bill lathe the heatsink cover its like got ribbs in it?
cheers

I dont see any ribs. Got a pick? All I could find was this...

o so there not suposed to be there, well i like the look of it.
ok so i am drawing my design now. what length would you recomend and what diamater heatsink.
cheers.
p.s i am wondering about the average size.
cheers

The deep fore to aft groves are machined in the head with a milling machine, Actully I could do them on just my lathe by indexing the head of the host.

Jeff can make the parts for you, but only you can tell him what you need.
