Heat Sinks available

Davo,
I want to make it right. I didn't realize there were two versions of the Coleman Max flashlight. Let me know what you want to do. I sent a PM with options.

I see the difference. On the top cap screw on piece.

I have a coleman max too. Ours are slightly different though . On mine the lens is wider and there is no lip really. The flashlight itself looks just the same except for where the lens is. Mine is just a thin ring around the lens.

Sorry your heat sink won't fit. I know LazerJock will make it up to you though :)

Davo,
I just figured out what happened.

You bought this:
Coleman Cree XLamp XR-E LED Flashlight, 2 CR2 (uses 2 Lithium Batt's)

The heat sink is designed for this one:
Coleman Cree XLamp XR-E LED Flashlight, 3 "AAA"
This is the one I have pictures of at the beginning of this post.

Do you have one of these 3 aaa ones hooked up and running?
If so what diode and ma are you running?

can u make one for the smaller one if i ship you back the heatsink and the flashight :) :) :)

All of the pointers I have built are running 3 AAA's.
I'm using Dr. Lavas Micro Flex Drive & phr803 Diodes from Ndrew2505.
I run my pointers at 125ma that gives me 100-125mw depending on the individual diode.
I know some of these guys are running higher, but the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long.
I figure for my RGV projector I will turn it up to 150 mw.
I use a Coherent Power meter from work to measure the output.

I can try. I don't own a lathe. It would be better for you to try to return that flashlight and get the bigger one. Walmart is really good about returns. It's up to you.

Yeah just sever a wire and tell them it doesn't work. Say i just wanna trade it for another cause it only worked for a day. Just trade it for the one that has a bigger lens and uses 3 AAA batteries.

I plan on running a LOC Red Diode at 420ma. I'm wondering if i will have to change the batteries it uses due to voltage.
PS: I will be purchasing one of your heatsinks here shortly.

I haven't built a LOC Red yet. I have a Sony 16x Red at 200mw driven by a ("Fusion" drive KIT for red/BR/HD diodes) from StoneTek. I'm using the stock 3 AAA battery holder. I would recomend Dr.Lava's Micro Flex Drive, they work much better on the lower voltages and can run from 32ma - 500ma.

I would love to get one of the heat sinks and the Harbor Freight host, please let me know if you can supply the set, Thanks! Best Wishes! -Glenn
