Has anyone played with the sharp gh0631ia2gc?

I'm planning to build it in an stainless steel "sanwu pocket" style host with a 12mm axis module and want to overdrive it to 250mw instead of its 185mw raiting ,my question is , do these diodes run hot? I would assume not since is an single mode
Same question for the 405nm bdr-206 ,I will run it at 500mw
 





I have the Sharp diode running at 200mW and the BDR at 600mW, no issues thus far on either of them. The Sharp barely gets warm but the BDR generates a bit of heat at 600mW
 
I have worked with many single mode Sharp diodes, but no reds. Many of mine are set at 275 mA which give all more than 100 mW out. Sorry I haven't had any experience with you Sharp diode. Mine are 477 nm, 486 nm, 488 nm, 493 nm, and 502 nm.
 
What is the 477nm Sharp diode? I have an old engineering sample Nichia diode that does 477nm but is only 25mW

That was the initial offering I got several years ago, though I was never given a part number for it. I got 3 or 4 of them and found that after they sold out I could get no more of those. Mine all measured between 472 nm up to the 477 nm one I kept for myself.
 
You know of the few of us who bought, I measured the wavelengths of many, and sold only asked about $60 each for them. There was another member here who bought several and just held onto them. Then, a year to 18 months later offered them at much higher prices once there were no more left.

I was on LaserTack's site earlier today and they have some of those preproduction Sharp units at 495nm for something like 140 Euros, expensive but it's the first I've heard of those rare wavelength Sharps being sold in a long time.

Don't beat ya self down technology is advancing and im sure high power cyan will be more popular and available for a decent price in a couple years. Slowly getting there but we are close. The only bad part is divergance that won't be fixed anytime soon.

Those initial 472nm to 477nm diodes were all engineering samples. Didn't know that at the time, but it was what it was. Those 495nm diodes are far less rare than the initial offering of the shorter wavelength diodes. It doesn't surprise me that these can still be had.
