Halo around my laser dot

I just received my first high power laser (50mW green) and it seems to have a very noticeable halo around the dot. I bought the laser from o-like and the cust service was top notch but i want to make sure i have a legit issue before i contact them.

It sounds normal to me, but I can't be sure without a picture.

Saw the pictures now, that's normal for cheaper 532nm lasers.

what causes the halo? is there anything i can do to improve the laser?

You can't do really about it unless you remove the lens system and change for another one. The halo's and spikes from the dot are artifacts of the lens. The laserbeam hits the lens and if the lens is badly designed or have impurities, some of the beam will reflect something else and creates artifacts.
