Guilty even if innocent?

Uggghhhh that pisses me off! I hate it how some cops can be so corrupt and get away with it.

Everything is illegal.... didn't you know?

soon even your home garden will be against the law!

There was a headline here in the US on yahoo news yesterday about a pro football player who got pulled over in the parking lot of the hospital where his mother was dying (it was down to the last few minutes). Upon telling the officer that he was in a hurry to be with his mother during her last few moments, the officer replied basically that if he didn't stop trying to rush him through the ticket that he would take the football player to jail for whatever traffic crime he committed. The officer then proceeded to take an extremely long time to finish writing the ticket. A hospital staff member came out to tell the officer that the people were in fact telling the truth and that they needed to be left alone so that they could be with the mother during her last breaths, to which the officer replied that they shouldn't have tried to rush him since he could easily make their day go from bad to worse. When they were finally allowed to enter the hospital, the mother had died. What a total piece of (expletive(s) of your choice).

Now any cop would like you to believe that they are an honorable member of an honorable force. I'll tell you instead that the police are a necessary evil, who should only be trusted if found to be trustworthy. Power almost always corrupts, and the plain truth is that each cop in the world has the potential to be just as big a piece of SH*T as the next guy (and often are). I am an upstanding member of society myself, but even I have been mistreated by the police on a few occasions due to power trips on the part of the officer(s) involved. Therefore I have no love for law enforcement personnel unless I know them personally, or they are publicly known as being honorable (which ain't many of them)..

Don't get me wrong, I respect the ideals that law enforcement fights for, and I respect the courage that a police officer must show in the face of adversity. Now if we could just get them to behave professionally...

"Obviously this is an issue that we have to take very seriously as it is a matter of public safety."

OH COME ON!

You know, there are LOTS and LOTS of stupid laws you wouldn't imagine they even existed. This is like saying that you need a license to buy a knife so you can cut bread in your kitchen.
