Well since we are on the subject of 405's...what is a safe (as of low- high) input voltage for the PHR's? I am using a 7.2v rechargeable batt back, and i just thought of it.

I think BR diodes like ~4.2V.

The voltage ranges depending on the diode. PHR's typically need 4.2-4.5V, and the newer powerful diodes like the 8x and 12 use upwards of 5.5V and more.

wait, are you hooking it up directly to the diode? That would be a shitty idea, but depending on the driver (if used) that should be fine.

What he said. Use a driver. The input voltage of the driver depends on the driver really. The flexdrive has a input limit if 6V (I think, the version 5 anyway) and the Rkcstr drive is 12V.
Of course im using a dirver:wtf: Lm317 temporarily, until i get the AMC, or LM1117. And the 7.2v pack is working great.
