Hello everyone!

My name is James, I'm a 25 yeard old student from Lisbon, PT that shares with you a common passion: laseeeers :lasergun:

I have read lots of posts here and gathered lots of valuable information, so I decided to finally create an account and share my experience so far, so grab your popcorn and come along on this journey :) PS: ::TLDR:: at the bottom of the post!

It all started as a kid, the moment I first saw and laid my hands on those tiny red pet laser pointers I was amazed...how could such a beautiful bright red color shine so bright and so far eh? :D

The passion went silent for many years until I was 15 yold and got accross the classic green pen style pointers on the web..then again I was amazed, not only by the 532nm color (which was completely new for me) but also by the power output, so I purchased a 30mw one! I was never so amazed before  the moment I saw the green beam across the sky I was so excited and happy

I sold that pointer 1 year later to a friend (it was a good deal for me) and since then the passion went underground.. until 2 months ago. I started digging into lasers on youtube and I purchased a couple 303 green pointers off ebay, but I wasn't surprised when I got them because they weren't much more powerful than my 1st greenie, so I kept digging!

I eventually came across a youtube video featuring a Thor MII 1W 450nm laser and guess what: I was shocked by the power output and the crazy beautiful 450nm beam it produced so I instantly purchased one (along with a pair of safety glasses of course)!

I'm more of a beam enthusiast, so after using the Thor MII and being amazed at its gorgeous beam in the night sky I went further beyond and purchased a Jetlasers PL-E Mini 1W 520nm along with the 10x BE! This my friends, is a pure monster, which I intend to review soon.

My collection is growing strong, and it's eager to grow bigger hehe

TLDR:: I discovered my passion for lasers when I was a kid (playing with a red pet laser pointer,) then at 15yo I purchased a classic green pen laser pointer; my next purchase was 2months ago (now 25) a Thor MII 450nm 1.6W laser, followed by a Jetlasers PL-E mini 1W 520nm + 10xBE. I'm looking forward to expand my collection :D

Cheers
James

Welcome Phaze to the forum it's a great place to learn/build and grow in the Laser Hobby. Enjoy and be safe!

You didn't mentain anything about safety glasses, with that Thor and that one watt JL 520 you need them. Hope you grabbed a pair.

Does sound like you've got a nice collection started. Beam shots! :D

Right! I should edit that :shhh: I did purchase a pair of safety glasses along with the Thor MII laser, I do respect my seeing balls quite a bit :D

I think I got some of them laying around, posting soon!

Alright here are some beam shots  PS: Pic heavy!

Jetlasers PL-E Mini 1W 520nm - Without 10x Beam expander, slightly off focus, but the color is accurate. Gotta redo these soon hehe

On this shot I was pointing at a hill in which you can figure by the 2 red lights from the radio antennas on its summit, it is about 1Km away and the dot is extremely small, I would say less than 3meters wide..the BE really does wonders! :p

Now for the Thor MII 1W+ 450nm - Shots without BE as I'm yet to build an adapter to the JL 10x BE

Great pics Phaze! That BE does work wonders. The night looks so dark, it makes yours pictures really show the beam nicely.

Thanks! Yeah I noticed that too, I have a few factors in mind to explain that: Firstly there is very low air pollution where I live, which makes for very often cloudless dark nights, and secondly it's my camera which happens to be very good at picking up the colors and contrasts in a night setting...it's a 2017 Samsung Galaxy A5 16mp camera

Thank you Jerry, it's a pleasure to meet you all :yh:

Oh really? Have you tried a different browser per se? I'm using google photos' raw links, it seems that some members can seem them

I'll have to sort this out, I do not want to have this kind of issue on future reviews :undecided:
