Green laser's used in riots greece

Outside of laser hobbyists people are really only familiar with weak red pointers and green pointers. So not really surprising.

The lack of red is strange though.

I'm suprised because among so many people noone had any 445nm laser even if he was on LPF or not, since they were so popular the last months. Anyway, reds were famous many years ago. The chinese merchants in Athens and in the rest cities of Greece only sell green lasers up to 100 mW and they are darn cheap. Everyone can afford them at the ridiculous price they are selling( dont remember exactly how much) It's just that I have never seen a person, even a friend in real life who would use a laser wisely. They always point at others people's bodies and sometimes in the face. I'd love to see how much those retards in Athens would laugh if I decided to bring my 2 W 445 labby in Athens and point at them.( dont worry im not gonna do anything stupid ).

If Greece manages to get the loan, it would mean that we will pay heavier taxes, which will lead to more epic riots. There is no future for me here. Staying here will only consume my life. I plan on moving to another country.

Oh and about that picture. There is no way that specific loser had a focusable laser. It's definitely a pointer. The way the picture was taken made it look blurry.

What is interesting is that all those lasers look like about same power. So I think someone who sells those, just took 1 box of the cheapest 5mW greens .. and sold it in the crowd. Those people for sure are no 'laserists' .. we don't deal in dots, we deal in beams !

wow..
the greens on the hotel look totally epic though
i bet the guy that sold them all the lasers is rich right now :)

I wonder if this will lead to the "Greek-Dutch Laserpointer War of 2011" (known to future generations as "Verlichte Εμμένουμε")?

It's supposed to mean "illuminated stick". I don't speak either language, I just used a web translator.
