I have the exact same SXD module in one of my lasers, including the hardwritten sticker, though i can't make out what it actually says. I bought it labeled as 50 mW, and it puts out a bit over 60. It was on DX, but they don't carry this model anymore... they have one that looks identical in their pics, but people that ordered that one were dissapointed.

If it has the same driver board too, you can find a little pot that can be used to change diode current... but if sxd rated it as 80, and it produces 80, its not likely it can be turned up (much) further without risking damage.

Thanks for the info Benm, i kinda was wanting to know if any one had did a POT adjusment with this laser. I suppose the LD is rated low? would you know what it is rated for? (anyone know?)

I have no idea on what the diode can handle, but it draws up to about 400-450 mA depending on battery voltage unmodified. Problem is that it warms up a fair bit dispite the heave case, so if you crank it up further it starts dimming after a short operation time.

One slight improvement to be made there is putting a small amount of thermal conducting paste on the threaded ring around the module, and then screwing both body ends back on tightly.

These SXD modules are actually pretty good (in terms of power and beam quality), its just a scam that they relabel them to 3 times the power and sell pointers.

I emailed Faona at Rayfoss lasers on this Focusable 200mW 532nm.

She said they test this (and probably all of their lasers) with an LPM and if it drops below 180mW after 20 seconds they won't sell it. Might not be the truth but I still plan on ordering one any way because of the price.

I got the same info by email on another laser, if they make good on the promise of minimum achieved power, they could do good business here on lpf

One thing i wonder about is how guarantee is arranged if the unit proofs to be under spec after all - would they refund, or ship a replacement? You'd probably still have the cost of shipping it back, which could be very tricky!

Benm, with most of the china lasers like this one, i'll bet to ship it back and hope for a refund or replacement would out weigh the hassle.
For me, Ya im not a happy camper on this laser. but for the price. i thank i'll keep it.
BCM did say in a early post that "you'r not going to get 200Mw with this laser" so with that said and for the price of the laser at around 80- 120Mw. it's still not to bad a deal.. the host is nice, the beam is fat (if you will) for show and tell.
Now i know BCM is not happy at all with 80Mw tested and i cant blame him one bit as he does buy more from SWholesale then most of us do.
I am awaiting a LPM from jerry as so i can test my lasers and not take a guess at the MW. I will post what MW mine is putting out when i receive the LPM.

It would be very nice to see a review with some measurements in it!

But somehow it seems a good development that some companies grasp the concept of guaranteed performace - and the ones that do usually make good reputation around forums like this one. If rayfoss is willing to make and keep promises in that regard, they're on the right track... but if they pretend to and it doesnt come true, they'll be burned just as easily

Yes and like benm said in the above post .
I see the price ($150) is not bad if the laser is meter and to spec.
Return or replacement would be (free return/replacement) a must.

LOok carefully to the specs and to photos i think it is the same thing .
If this rayfoss i almost bougth this rayfoss but then i looked it

Ok fokes, i got a LPM to test the 200Mw green laser that bouthe BCM and myself have.
Im glad to say that mine tested at 150mW for 5 sec and dropped to 130mW for the 1 min test time that i did. Not to sure if this info helps, but i did post that i would test this laser when i got a LPM.
