So my parents bought me this for my 18th and I have it set up with 3V worth of batteries and the negative going to the coil and positive to the body... When I press the button on the board I get a green light on the board lighting up but no laser... Can someone please help me with this? I have been wanting to get into lasers for ages...
Sorry about the images... The image dimensions are very constricting... The laser is a green 10Mw...

I hope they didn't pay $99 for that, seems a little steep to say the least, pictures of your setup would be useful too

Does the module say what the input voltage range should be? Perhaps the driver needs more voltage?

just a heads up, its 10mW not 10Mw. it makes a big difference m=milli, M=mega.

You say that you are using 3volts to power the module
but I only see one (1) 1.5V battery in that our of focus
picture.

You can easily post pics up to 800 X 600 pixels on the Forum.

Looks like it maybe broken. You can easily see 10 mW of 532. Dont look into the end of the module, but turn it on and using a mobile phone camera try to see if there is any faint red light coming out. You can also point the laser at a wall and try to see the laser dot on the phone screen. Again: DONT look into the laser to see it! If you can see light coming out on the phone, the laser is dead and you should get a replacement.

Edit: @ Jerry looks more like a battery pack and you can only see one of the batteries in it?

Just did that and well here are the results I also did it in a completely dark room and could only see the onboard light... also another pic of the setup (yes the wires are going in one side of the picture and entering the other... they are about 30cm long)

If it is operating at the correct voltage, as the spec sheet suggests, and there is absolutely no light coming out, the 808 nm diode is probably dead. Id return it for a replacement or preferably get your money back and buy a completed green laser with a much higher power from here. It will probably also be much cheaper here too! ;)

Edit: I didnt mean take a photo, rather use the movie mode to to look at the dot on the wall using the built in LCD and not viewfinder - do this in a dark room too! It would be near to impossible to see the 808 nm light by just taking a photo of the end of the laser in the daylight.;) Either way Id just return it and get a good quality higher power green here...:)

Here in NZ it is illegal to try importing a laser pointer over 1mW... The only way to get one is to buy the module and do the rest yourself...

Yeah I know, but there are lots of Australians here who can help you...;) You can also get higher powered modules from here or several internet sites that will ship to NZ. Good luck

Send it back for a full refund, looks like its DOA try fleabay for the 1mW pointers from china, be careful because these are often way over spec

I want a green one that I can hit the hill/peak about 1 km away... I know a 10mW can do this easily...
