Well gang the new style 200mW red laser showed up in the mailbox today. This thing is really cool! It burns like crazy and boy is it BRIGHT! Need glases for sure.

A quick review: Purchased From O-like.com

The laser is smaller than I thought it would be and the head focuses really smoothly. There is a small spring iside to keep slight tension on the head so contact of current will be kept. It does come with two batteries and a charger for them. No Laser danger lable on the body. Beam divergence on this laser is really good when focused to infinity, a very small point of light. There is a line passing through the laser spot ---O--- like so from the caldding layers of the diode where laser light is passing from the sides. The red Pulsar lasers are the same, common in these diodes. I bet this thing is every bit of 200mW. It is really strong. For $48.00 I am impressed. I may get another one. It took about 10 days for it to arrive in a small padded bag.

Il'll post some photos soon. A video is coming uo shortly.

I hope you start to understand why I say chinese lasers are not always bad, especially with the dildas :D

I never said they were all bad, just maybe some. I guess you just need to know who to buy from. Almost everything we own is made overseas anyway right. I do realize you get what you pay for.....so why do you all call thei thing "Dilda" anyway? Because of its shape? LOL

Hey todd, if that's the dilda laser, get a lens from jay or Larry. and use 3.6V cr2's. :)

Susie or DealExtreme can hook you up with some 3.6V batteries and a 3.6V charger, and you should notice about 25% stronger laser, but you risk damaging your laser and receiving a lesser lifetime, but think about it, you won't really realistically ever use 100hours.. nevermind 1000 hours, or 2000, etc.

The 3.6V batts won't destroy the diode, the diode seems to be good enough quality to handle it, and Susie recons (don't hold her to it though) that it should lower the lifespan of the diode, but you'll (as I read somewhere on a forum) notice about 25% increase in power from the laser. Ultimately it is your choice, I woulda done it if I didn't sell all my lasers, i get lasers, "test them," (thats my little time to play with them and get bored) and sell them as new with about 30 mins testing done.

i agree that thing is damn bright, hope you have your goggles on :p

I don't wear goggles with my 200mW red, although I am responsible with it and only use it on dark dark surfaces etc and it never hurts my eyes.. If I was to use it on something white and shiny, well I am sure I would go blind :P

Well as for the goggles, I have the blue ones from Wicked Lasers and the goggles completely eleminate the laser. You can not see it at all through these things, just where it is burning. So they are goo protection, but you can't see the spot at all.

Yes I know that mate.. But that is extremely dangerous to use as it may reflect off something and burn your eyes without you even knowing it. Not for just general everyday use and casual use at all ;)

Hey dudes thge laser is not IR it is the glasses I was talking about and how they do not let the 650nm light pass through, they completely cut it out. They should allow at least 10% pass so you can see where you are pointing.

I was thinking about buying one of those but suzie said they dont like to accept money orders or watever.. and thats the only way I can buy one. anyway, did you have to have your laser and batteries shipped sepperately? do you think I should if i buy one?

Prolly a bit hard and not very safe to manufacture goggles that let certain %age thru.

Jesse, Susie accepts bank transfers and PayPal, why not purchase a pre-paid visa card, they are in nearly all countries now. Batteries and charger CAN be shipped seperately if you want. You should get this done if your govt doesn't allow high powered lasers, if you have no restrictions, well then there is no problem.
