I've been buying pre-built lasers for quite some time now, and, I think it's about time I start making my own. So, brings me to these diodes. Is there any good source other than ebay? The search bar always seems to lead me there but usually I avoid buying from them.
If not, Is this eBay source a good one?
I don't hear about these often, at all. I think they'd make a nice deep red color. (and a good first DIY)

That's where eveyone's been getting them as far as I know (me included). Not much, if any color difference between 660 and 685

These diodes appear as a very dim red. Great if you're a collector of wavelengths, but, most folks won't care for them.

Save yourself some money and get a LPC-815 sled. A red 660nm diode with a output of 250mW. And as bonus a 100mW IR 780nm diode included with the sled.

Yup thats where I got mine 3 for 13 bucks. They appear very dim but are nice because if you break one you still get 2 more chances.

I'm a collector of wavelengths, just wanted to know if this would be something I should trust buying.

Yes, you can trust this source. Mine measured at 684.5, 685, and 686nm respectively.

Okay, just ordered it today (10 mins ago)
Hadn't seen the seller location until now
...Singapore
Estimated delivery between Feb 2nd and 16th. Ouch.

yup good for wavelength collection

Comparison: 635 Vs 685 VS 660
