I've currently got one 405nm <5mW laser (which is suspect is quite overspecced) and a 532 <5mW. I am looking to buy a pair of goggles to protect me, mainly wavelength in this spectrum. However I don't plan on buying anything stronger than 50mW at most.

I need some advice on which to buy, that would not ruin me. I have been looking on some reccomended sites, but all those glasses are "safe for most class 4" and so darn expensive. Are there any cheaper alternatives if you don't use the stronger lasers?

Spend the money and get the best goggles you can buy. There is no cheap and easy way out when it comes to safety.

Well if we are talking about 50mw, an OD-2 goggle will do, will reduce it to 1%, and that would be enough, also it will allow a better light transmission.

The survival lasers multi-wavelength goggles, for 405-532nm, and 808nm to over 1064, would be the best option IMO.

Check with gary (survival lasers) because I'm not sure what all he's still selling to us citizens. That is if you are a us citizen.

True but there isn't laws against selling empty flashlights either but he's not selling those. i can't speak for him but i would just check to verify that it's something he would sell.
"U.S. customers: We have temporarily suspended sales to U.S addresses until we receive guidance from the FDA on which products can be sold to the public and those that can only be purchased by "OEMs" and manufacturers. We anticipate that it will take a few more days to obtain this determination. Thank you for your patience and understanding!"

True, but I'll worry about goggles no longer being legal, about the same time that amazon, and ebay stop selling them.

Even if he shuts down shop for whatever reason, I can't see him not selling of much of the inventory.

Hi all, just returned from a trip to the Black Rock desert. We should have a "survivallaserusa.com" store up and running within the next 2 weeks with the goggles and many of the other products available to US customers.

Just got back Garoq? Didn't that end a week or two ago?

Anyway, the FDA isn't going to regulate the goggles. It's not like the specs are claiming certification under laser-protection standards. Most just claim "CE certified" which can mean that they just won't break under light impact, or ergonomic type of stuff.

The BALLS launch is still ongoing, actually. ARLISS/XPRS ended about a week ago.

I realize there was absolutely no problem with selling goggles and many other products. We decided to discontinue US sales on the current store just to avoid confusion and misunderstanding by the FDA. I plan to make a survivallaserusa.com store operational very shortly.
