Ok another update. I hate to say this, because there is always someone who will go after my business ;D ;D, anyhow my supplier  says these come from the GBW-H10N. These when searched on google are the EXPENSIVE $700 4x burner drives, and have some unique specs

the GGW-H20L is a cheaper $200 6x.

more info to come

Is this not backwards?  The gbw-h10n was released in 06  :-?  h20l burns BD R @ 6x & DVD R @ 16x

The H10N burns DVD @ 12x & BD R @ 4x, my question is, how is this better?

Also they were more expensive as they were released 3 years ago.... :-/

So why would you title the thread 6x when they are basicly the same if not lower power than possibly an 803t? 4x is not 6x :-?

Re: 6x Blu-ray SLEDS GB! GET EM WHILE THEY LAST

okay guys Paypal will clear the funds to my bank account for batch 1 maybe tomorrow or Tuesday. If I get all the payments in by Tuesday for batch two, I can send the supplier two payments, one from my bank account, and one using my PayPal Debit.

This makes it so they send ONE BIG package with all of batch 1 and two, and I can just ship it all from there. saves time, and money.

regards,

amk

You really need to read the whole thread.  See post #27

Many times an increase in writing/reading speed is the result of changes to other hardware and/or software

The 18X and the 20X (and maybe the 22X) red burners are all the same diode.

Also, the first generation of a given technology is always more expensive because of start-up costs.

Peace,
dave

The 4x drives and the 6x drives are the same. These have MUCH MORE power than the PHR-803T's, as you cannot run an 803T at 200mW. As daguin said earlier, they most likely would not design a whole nother diode for the 6x drives, and the manufacturer has Confirmed that these are the SAME drives used in LG 6x and 4x.

Also, there is much more to the drives than just two diodes. There maybe much better and improved electronics/more efficient hardware in the 6x drives which enables them to burn at those speeds.

Once again, the manufacturer has confirmed the same sleds are used in both 4x and 6x LG drives.

Im hoping that is the case. The one thing that would say these are the same diodes is something that another member pointed out. There is no heatsink where the BR diodes sits. Hopefully that is a result of an under driven 6x diode. But I was expecting the nice open can red as well, hopefully these have them. I mainly want the optics and the BR, so my fingers are crossed :)
