Future build with NUBM07 diode. Looking for guidance!

Hello members,
After looking into this awesome hobby and learning about safety, I decided to make my first high-powered build.
I'm planning to buy NUBM07, driver and housing(for 9mm diode).

Driver: 5-12V Step-Down Constant Current Driver for 3W-3.5W 445nm Laser Diode | eBay Suitable?

Driver from DTR: https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/laser-drivers/x-drive (Super X-Drive) 2.4 or 3A?

Which is better?

For the housing I'm looking for DTR's 20mm 9mm diode housing.

It might be better to just buy the whole thing from DTR for $145, then you won't have to deal with all the extra work or the possibility of it breaking.

As has already been stated, it would be better for you to get all of your parts assembled and tested by DTR as it is not simple to set up the current on a driver if you have no electronics experience and a DMM with a test load. These are things you will get along the way and learn how to use as you go. You might want to consider a less diverging laser as your first build. An M140 diode is capable of putting out over 2 watts of optical power with a G-2 lens and is far less diverging than the 07. The NDB7875 is a 9mm diode that is capable of 3 watts power and has better divergence as well.

M-462 and the NDB 7675 are both good choices as well, the 7675 recently had a special you can likely still get and the beam looks good.

I always wear goggles when I operate lasers at close range. Eagle pair 190-540nm.

Sanwu is a good company, I liked them from the start because they looked to bring us new things we could use and very good products, I just ordered another 3X BE because I like and use them so much.

DTR is also very good and building your own is easy once you have done it a couple of times, many members here have host for sale that make it easy as well.

If you want a 2.5-3.0 watt NDB7875 rather than or in addition to that pretty blue 2.0 watt NDB7675 get it from DTR soon because they are not in production anymore, later you may see some on ebay but they will likely be used or pulled from used equipment so I would get it soon if you want one, the stronger diodes from there have wider divergence, the NDB7875 is the king of the level 1 divergence diodes and a sturdy diode, the 7675 is just a prettier blue 465nm vs 445nm but the 7875 is stronger , you can get one from DTR in a module with a driver attached and save it to build into a host later if you want, but the brand new zero hours use diodes will dry up in time as the new more divergent diodes are what's in production.

They are both good choices, the 7675 is prettier but 7875 is stronger, they are at a good price so you can get both. :beer:
