I'm sure I posted this, but anyway.

The pad2pad order doesnt even ship to me until the 17th. After that it's ASAP. Will advise when I know more

Im new to the forum but i would like to get in on the group buy for drivers. I would like to get 12 drivers for blue-ray pointers. Please contact me to tell me how to get in on these.

If you want 12, I can help you out but the price may be a little higher. PM me if you're interested

Somewhat off topic...

Hey, so I've got a somewhat off-topic question...

I'm planning on using a 7.4v lithium polymer battery to power my driver... from what I can tell that should be enough voltage (8.4v on a full charge)... but, after watching some videos of lipo batteries going up in violent fireballs, I'm getting a little concerned about the idea that they might be drained below 6v...

You say this driver drops 1v off forward voltage, and it will theoretically continue to lase as low as 5.5v... but I've heard discharging lipo past 3v per cell (6v for my battery) can cause damage and possibly explosions when you go to charge them.

Does anyone know if I should be concerned about this, and/or is there a way to build in a simple cutoff to ensure the cells don't get discharged that far?

Also, can't wait till they're here! Thanks for keeping us updated, BF!

Where'd you find the battery? Do they have "protected" ones? Because those already have the very cutout circuit you're looking for, built in. In fact it's a bit disturbing when it happens - I was convinced my diode had died till I realized what was going on.

it's one of these:
edit: damnit, I still can't post links...
It's dealextreme sku 7621, the $8 Mystery brand LiPo.

for the price I paid, I'm not sure it has a cutoff circuit... and I'd rather not find out the hard way if it does or not...

on the links... it's until 10 posts and after you reply to this you'll be there ;)

That battery is not protected, according to the discussions attached to that page. So unless you need to go with that pack instead of a regular cylindrical battery, I'd get something different.

What makes you think I haven't already, getting warmed up??

Muahahahahahaha... [smiley=evil.gif]

I KNOW ive posted this.

I get the boards themselves on the 25th. Then it's ASAP. That's all I can say.
