Re: Presale #2 Extended - The Cypreus-IIb - Custom Copper Host by Sinner

The machining is taking a bit long this time. Sorry for the delay guys, because of that I am still offering the discounted prices of $75, after that they will be back to the original price of $99.00

All orders above $100 shipped free, worldwide

Hey sinner,
I'm going to sit this one out actually. This host is awesome, hopefully there will be another run by the end of summer.
Or maybe I can snag one off a future sale. :)

The copper color looks great on this host, but I also might like to see a copper host nickel plated that is designed for that color. My top priority is functionality but looking cool is definitely a factor.

Keep making new hosts, and I'll keep buying (funds permitting).

I've learned from previous host runs to stretch that wallet(have a raman week), you may never get another chance.

sinner, I know this is going to sound like a stupid question, but the drop in heat sink is taking the place of the AixiZ module, isn't it? And if so, how would one press the laser diode into it? And if this is still the case, what about different sizes of laser diodes? I like the whole idea of making it out of copper, but there are TO-18s, and 9mm diodes and TO-38s. If I am wrong about all this where is the link to see how this will work? I am interested in this build and just want to understand it before ordering one. On the other hand, does it take an AixiZ type module and held in place with the set screw?

The later is correct, The second photo in the OP shows that there is a 3mm set-screw (M3) which hold the 12mm modules in place, You can use any diode package with appropriate diode housing (Aixiz, DTR 12mm copper, Generic etc.) and tighten it with the set screw.

There will also be a half-moon heatsink that I will include for free as long as they dont run out (I have about 30 maybe) so driver can be heatsinked aswell.

P.S: If anyone wants to order the host, I'll still offer a $75 price for the next two (2) orders, just in case anyone missed it.

I would love to put a >1W green diode in this.

How much for Rh plating? You mentioned it but never said a price, and it isn't an available option:thanks:

Can I buy one of these focus adapters only? And if so, could you make it out of aluminum? Thanks a lot.

I'll keep that in mind and let you know when I have made one, but no commitments as I have a bunch of hosts that need to be machined and I cant really do that right away.
