I finally purchased one of them, I'm curious to see if it will be effeccting in cooling a 2W 9mm diode . Hope it will (I'm pretty sure of that ) even without applying the termal compound to the module!

Thermal paste isn't really needed, and as far as I know most people didn't/don't use it, but every bit of heat transfer surely helps. This current one is now sold, but I will be making more upon request.
