Well I just got 3 of these SS 10440 hosts delivered!

But I don't think they will last long...

Yeah I've got a blu-ray and green...

The green is kind of tricky getting it to fit though...

Hmmm...

Well, I wasn't planning on selling that kit, because as you can see from the pictures in the first post, it is something that requires fitting the module.

There are module modifications involved as well...

So I haven't thought about selling a green kit. I suppose I could do the host modifications, but you would still need to make sure your module is the right length as shown in my first post pictures...

I just wanted to show what could be done with this host.

Well, Personally, I'm OK with mine sticking out a little, though, even if it's too long. Actually, though, since the DX modules are smaller at the front, I think that I would only need the sleeve. So, how much would you charge for one of those sleeves like you used?

Well it would have to be the sleeve with the host. Because the sleeve length is a very close tolerance fit. Like maybe 3 thousandth's of an inch...

But send me a PM and we can talk about it...

Update:

It was time to redesign this kit for a custom fit module instead of a thin sleeve for an AixiZ module...

First post now shows these updated pictures:

It's a much better design for this little gem now...

DTR, I sent your SS 10440 kit and other item today. (Thursday)

Thanks!

This host is not a cheap host from DX, but it is a very nice one...

The total for the kit increased by $9 dollars more than what it was before for this custom module design. But you don't have to buy an AixiZ module...

It's an additional $8 dollars if you want the copper module upgrade...

It's just a matter of the extra time to make it is all...

A much better design though!

$9 is reasonable. I really like this and I want to find some way to do a class IV laser with one of these.

I would say that a 10440 would be ok for 600mA's with a 445...

That will give you your class 4 laser! Maybe 650mA's if using an AixiZ 445 lens instead of a 405-G-1...

But that is probably pushing the battery about as far as you could. I would keep it to about 500mA's just for better capacity/run time if it were me...

Yeah, but then it might not be class IV anymore. I just want a super small class IV. Some of the charts I've seen suggested that a 12X BR has (or can have) better efficiency than a 445. 'Cause like I saw you did a 445 on the micro key chain style at 260mA or so and were only getting 78mW. Or is it just at powers that low that 445s are inefficient?
