(SOLD)
This awesome blu-ray uses an adjustable DDL style driver. There is a small 50 ohm pot. (this driver should not be turned up more than 200mA's because it is a 1/4 watt pot with the LM317)

The driver is set at 90mA's.
The use of the Meredith glass lens, gives 30% more power with a blu-ray, in comparison to an AixiZ acrylic. (plastic cut away)
117mW's! - More power, without having to 'over drive' the diode...

Built with the Meredith glass lens, and the PHR-803T blu-ray diode.

beamshots bro, beamshots!

I'll get a couple of pictures after work today. It's going to look the same as this though:

Taken in normal garage light, with some smoke...
From left to right:
My 16.7mW PS3 blu-ray
My 63.2mW 2 X writer blu-ray
Last but not least, my 6 X blu-ray - 130.5mW's!

117mW at 90mA? :o

Can't wait to get glass lenses! I was guessing much lower than that...

Awesome work! I can't believe how powerful these diodes are!

IgorT, check this post:

The Meredith glass lens is very 'short focus' in design. It must be positioned very close to the LD in order to get focus. That's why it gives more power. None of the light 'fans out' before it gets to the lens.

The trade off, is that it doesn't focus as 'tight' for burning. Still burns, just not quite as good as a Meredith acrylic or an AixiZ acrylic.

Personally, I'm not interested in burning with the blu-rays. I just like that mesmerizing florescence and (at this power), BEAM! :D

Leave the burning for the reds...

I know.. I just didn't expect this kind of increase.. :) It's amazing, what this little diode is capable of!

I'm not that interested in burning either.. I would actually prefer a tight bright beam. But there's always a trade off, so i'm aiming at the middle.. I just hope i can reach a similar power. :o

Very impressive!

Re: FS: 117mW Blu-Ray! - PHR-803T/Meredith Glass M

So far, with 3 different blu-ray diodes (PS3, 6 X, and 803T), I have got a 30% increase in power by using the Meredith glass lens. (in comparison to an AixiZ acrylic with plastic cut away)

For the high power reds, the Meredith glass lens gives about a 20% increase in power compared with an AixiZ acrylic with plastic cut away.

They're expensive though...

Yep.. Can you tell me the approximate beam diameter with the Meredith glass lens?

I'm afraid that I have no way to accurately measure the beam diameter. (don't know how to) I can tell you that it is visually a little thicker and cleaner if you know what I mean. Here's a picture:

The brightest blu-ray beam on the right, is my 6 X blu-ray with a Meredith glass lens.
The center laser, is my 2 X blu-ray with a Meredith acrylic lens.

Re: FS: 117mW Blu-Ray! - PHR-803T/Meredith Glass M

Thicker? I thought it would be thinner, compared to an AixiZ acrylic for example.

But you're right, it is really hard to measure. Especially when your eyes can't focus on it. :)
From what i can tell, the AixiZ acrylic makes a beam of approximately 3.5 - 4 x 5mm...

Re: FS: 117mW Blu-Ray! - PHR-803T/Meredith Glass M

Yep...the Meredith glass lens is a thicker beam...

Here's a beam shot of this 117mW Meredith glass blu-ray laser that I am selling:

Thanks!...Yes, the 803 diodes are awesome. About the glass lenses. As you probably know, the AixiZ glass lenses give less power with a blu-ray than an AixiZ acrylic. (plastic cut away) But the single element, short focus Meredith glass lens is a different story!

I know that you are working on getting some special coated glass lenses for 405nm. Looking forward to the test results. I would love to compare one of your special 405nm lenses with my other comparisons.

About the diodes. I have built 3 different lasers so far with the PHR-803T diodes. All three are set at 90mA's.

1. AixiZ acrylic lens (plastic cut away) - 106mW's
2. Meredith acrylic lens - 80.6mW's.... (the coating on the Meredith acrylic lens is not good for the blu-rays - A clear AixiZ acrylic would give about 90mW's here) This one, I changed to a Meredith glass lens and now measures 117.7mW's (for sale - this thread)
3. AixiZ acrylic lens (plastic cut away) - 92.8mW's (for sale) http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1212202326

As you can see from these three, there is some variation in each individual diode. My first one there, is the HOTTEST...for the same current.

Re: FS: 117mW Blu-Ray! - PHR-803T/Meredith Glass/M

dude holy **** wat can it do. can it match one of ur reds. cause i know that br's can be focused better and hav a higher power density( higher charged electrons)
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D it looks awesome.
