dude holy **** wat can it do. can it match one of ur reds. cause i know that br's can be focused better and hav a higher power density( higher charged electrons)
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D it looks awesome.

Quite honestly, I have not done much experimenting with blu-ray burning. When I first got one over 50mW's (my 2 X build), I lit a match easily. Just to see.

But I don't have goggles for the 405nm wavelength. So I can't really see good for focussing really 'tight'. I know they will burn good though. Heats up the skin fast! Lol...

I really like the blu-rays for the florescence, I don't even try burning with them. I may have to pick up some goggles for 405nm...

Jay - ANY UVa and UVb sunglasses will work fine with Blu-Ray - the only thing you have to watch out for, is a direct hit (like when wearing ALL goggles) but the less dark the lenses are, the better you will be able to see the dot - just make sure they have those little stickies on them that advertise the 100% UVa&UVb blockage :) This has GOT to be a first for this hobby - easily available, and CHEAP protection ! WOOT !

Good to know Greg! Another bit of information from your bank of knowledge. I'll have to do some experimenting with the blu-ray burning capabilities.

Thanks for that tip!
Jay

P.S. Did the package I sent, get to you?

Re: FS: 117mW Blu-Ray! - PHR-803T/Meredith Glass/M

Haven't stumbled to the mailbox as of yet...but will be departing soon, and will be on the edge of my seat waiting :P hehehehe ! Mail delivery for me has been REALLY slow as of late....they put up the mail route for bidding, and of course the lowest bidder got it, and this sucker is a jerk...

Re: FS: 117mW Blu-Ray! - PHR-803T/Meredith Glass/M

I figured it should have been there...

Hopefully today. I feel bad though. Because I didn't put anything extra in there like you did for me.

Thanks for the glass lenses and stickers Greg! :)

I may start putting the stickers on my MXDL builds, but I would have to cut them. Because there is not a lot of flat space on the MXDL. Here's my personal one:

I can send you a few stickers that are good for cutting - I got them from Aixiz, they are UUUBER generic, with little boxes to select the wavelength, and power, etc - but look nice if they are chopped off :)

You've been very generous already Greg... Invoice me for about 30 of them to try out: jayrob@inreach.com

Hey jayrob, if you want some really cheap glasses for the lower wavelengths pick up a set of BluBlockers. They sell them at Walgreens or they have a website too. My local Walgreens has them 2 for $15. They block 405 almost completely as well as most of the 488 from my argons and a lot of the 532 from my 30mW DX. Here are a couple pics of the glasses at work on a 6X running at about 130mA:

Thanks climbak!
I think I'll order some up right now! 8-)

Re: FS: 117mW Blu-Ray! - PHR-803T/Meredith Glass/M

Climbak - I really would not rely on them for green blockage - they should be fine for UV as long as they are rated at 100% UVa and UVb protection. If you want to protect from green, buy the proper goggles ;)

Re: FS: 117mW Blu-Ray! - PHR-803T/Meredith Glass/M

Yeah, they definitely aren't good for green. My green is only 30mW so I'm not too worried about that anyway. I mostly just included that fact to show how far the filter bandwidth goes. I wouldn't even recommend them for any blues (473/488) much higher than about 50mW. Mostly just a good, cheap set for blu-ray or low-medium power blues.

Re: FS: 117mW Blu-Ray! - PHR-803T/Meredith Glass/M

It's GREAT to know a "name brand" that is proven, and freaking available EVERYWHERE ! :D Great detective work, BTW :)

$30 dollar price drop! :) 117mW Meredith glass blu-ray...
