SolarForce L2P Kit! - 18650 Host With Massive Heatsink...

I've decided what kit I want to purchase. The massive heat sink is real nice and the ability to adjust beam is KEY ! ! I want to get it with the "HOT" Option. I guess you preset the mA output for the diode. I want it to run bright but not comprimise the diode MTTF. I want to install myself a 445nM@350-450mW. Is that possible for a reasonable price. I want all the nice options for the build. Jsut please recommend the Aixiz parts I need to order to complete kit. I'm ready to proceed with the project ASAP. What is the total price on your end ?

There is also another kit I might consider in the same wave length and output power. This is the 4171 host MXDL using the Merideth Diode of approx 275mW. This needs to be HOT option with all the good acessories. Need to know what diode to get from them to work best for me.

I'M 100% READY TO GET GOING ON THIS. SO I WANT TO ORDER MONDAY NEXT WEEK IF I CAN GET ALL THE INFO FROM YOU THAT I NEED. If one build is a bit cheaper than the other I will go for that one for my first. Then venture on from there.

What quality are the O-LIKE 250mW Green units they sell complete ?

O-like green over 250mW's are great for the price, but it is not the thin beam quality like a Nova or Optotronics...

It is a 'fat' beam...

The 4171 host has been out of stock from DX for months. I believe it is discontinued.

The SolarForce L2P kit that I have, is my best kit considering heatsink mass, ease of assembly, and host quality...

Just send me a private message for pricing and payment. Check the first post for options. There are lens options, focusing adapters, host options, etc...

I received your reply concerning I want a GREEN module with 350-400mW output. You said, "O-like green over 250mW's are great for the price, but it is not the thin beam quality like a Nova or Optotronics..." Which models of this brand fits the source kit SolarForce L@P with massive heatsink. Also considering a 405 or 445nMW diode. is it the same with the GREEN ? I WANT A THIN BEAM NOT FAT like O-like. I'm VERY ready to purchase the components. How much is the kit I talked about going to cost minus GReen module or blue diode ? Looking for a ball park figure.

Thanks Todd

I don't have any kits for a green module of the power you are asking about...

For that kind of power with a quality beam, you have to just buy a laser from Nova, Optotronics, or the CNI Group buy from scopeguy20 in the group buy section...

These 445 diode lasers are not the thin beam profile that you can get with a DPSS laser.

The pricing for this kit is shown in the first post. But you will have to get your own diode. I do not sell complete lasers. Or even laser diodes with my kits...

Hey jayrob, received your kit yesterday and just lost myself with it since. It's superb.
Slapped on some arctic silver on the copper module since I had some around, perfect with this huge heatsink helping out.

Huge thanks, I'll buy from you again sometime

Glad you like it! And thanks for posting back with pictures! :)

Just to answer any questions that may come, Volume117 requested the 'natural finish' L2P host instead of the black one...

And also wanted a smooth EzFocus adapter, but sticking out the front some, for better access. (not recessed like my build shown in the first post)

I can adjust the finish length to your liking. A custom focus knob works well with this kit too if you want to be able to have a dust cap... (or just a standard AixiZ focus ring)

danefex, I'm working on your kits tonight and will ship tomorrow. (Tuesday)

Here is how the SolarForce L2 Gun Metal host with crenelated bezel will look when you build it:

Jay,
Can you make me one like this with two small toggle switches hear the driver?

Take close look at the pictures in the first post...

This design has the driver mounted inside the heatsink. So I'm not really sure what you would like to do with the toggle switches...

I'm going to use one of them to change the current setting on a Micro Boost Drive V1.

I'm thinking one switch mounted with the throw action in line with the body would present a better appearance in the finished product.

Let's forget about the second switch for now, It's no longer of importance; I have found a work around.

Most hosts have multimodes built into the flashlight driver, but some hosts have a switch that cycles through two different contact points. And there is a resistor on one of them, giving a lower current...

That may be a possible easy set up to try. But you will then have to cycle through both modes: On high/off/on low/off...

I'm after a quality build, your pretty much my only option for a host, I was really hoping you could source and install a tiny metal toggle switch for me, I'm not big on machining, my background is in electronics and micro miniature repair.

Would it be difficult for me to dremel and install a switch myself?
