FS: ***Selectable test load up to 3A (assembled or DIY kit)*** IN STOCK!

By the way, is there a list on here of all the diodes voltage drops?

The voltage drop will change with current.
Use Figure 2 Typical Forward
Characteristics in the 1N540x datasheet.

http://www.diodes.com/datasheets/ds28007.pdf

The resistor will then add another voltage
drop in a 1:1 proportion with the current.

So as an example, say your diode is a
typical M140 running at 1.8A. Dropping
around 4.6-4.8V, first subtract the voltage
drop of the resistor, which will be 1.8V.
Then divide that by the voltage drop of a
single diode, 0.85. So 3 or 4 diodes would
be about right.

4.7 - 1.8 / 0.85 = 3.4 diodes

Sorry if I was confusing. Laser diode voltage drops;) it's all good though so thanks to all who as we're in any capacity:)

I was kind of wondering this myself. It seems like something hard to find unless you made notes.

edit: even with the search bar.

There are quite a few different diodes. What I usually do is search for a graph or chart for the particular diode.

But, as a rule of thumb,

IR = 2.0V
Red = 2.3 - 2.5V
NDG700 = 4.8V
NDG7475 = 5.0 - 5.3V
Blue = 4.8V
405nm = 5.8V
Osram 520nm = 6.0 - 6.8V

I finally got the strength to solder my new
board.

Looks good :) Jufran did a good job with these, they look really nice, in a very simple way.

I tried to order a test load either assembled or as a DIY kit. The sales page says sold out in either configuration. When will you have more in stock?

PM sent.

I bought 2 of these. One as a kit and one pre-made and use them all the time. Haven't used my Crazyspaz 10A one yet but it's ready to go when I need it. Weird how his was for sale for some time and Noone jumped on it. Worked out great for me though;)
