This video is only 2 minutes long and shows how a professional thermopile is constructed, I had seen that pattern of transducers before and here's a good image.

It also shows a silicon based unit that may have a wide range.

I would like to be able to test 5mw to 100w with one unit if possible, but it may require different size piles for power ranges, still I need to be able to test 15w cubed pairs of 44's and later bigger.

I have doubts about the small unit being tested, it may work but will it last?

Did some testing yesterday.
This morning I plugged in the USB cable
to charge the LPM and the Red light came
ON indicating it was charging...
10 minutes later I checked the Charge LED
and it was Off.....

I pushed the Power PB and Nada...
Checked the voltage of the Battery and it
was at 4.07vdc. Checked the output to
the LPM and 0.0Vdc...
Looks like the LiPo charger went belly up.
I bypassed the Charger circuit and input
5Vdc and the LPM is still functioning.
I just ordered a few of the same Charging
PCBs.
I hope this is not a common problem...

That sucks, as you said, hopefully this isn't a common problem.
Looks as if there have been only a few of these made, so hopefully they will improve on this design and the construction, and provide an improved product using the feedback from you guys. :)
