FS: Pocket Mini Build Kit! - Easy Assembly!

I finished my 6x Pocket Mini :D 8-)
It is only outputting 150mW due to a bad battery and a scratched lens.
However, i am extremely happy with the build and the size.

I can't wait to get an IgorT lens, and a better battery.
Do you know if 3.6V RCR123A batteries give it more power?

Anyways, thanks for the kit Jayrob! It is awesome!
So guys, if you are planning to build a laser, then look no further ;)

Thanks for posting back Spyder! :)

About the battery...

The FlexDrive should work the exact same (with-in a mA or 2) using a 3.0 volt batteries vs the 3.6 volt batteries.

You will have differences in diodes. I have found that most 6X diodes are at about 180mW's with 190mA's current. But at least 3 have been over 200mA's at that same current. (AixiZ acrylic)

Yea, well the battery is almost dead, and the lens is scratched :-/
The battery is 3V without a load, so with a load it's like 2.5V

EDIT: It's actually doing 172mW :D
Now, to get a new battery...

BTW, those new Flexdrives are hard to solder to :o

About the cool upgrade that is coming...

It will be available to everyone! If you already have the host, you can send me the back section for the modification. I will not need the 'business end'. (head/module/diode)

I hope to show this mod in a couple of days. I guess maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it yet, but Greg and I are both very excited about this idea of his! And I just wanted to let people know to watch the thread.

When you see it, you will understand why I wanted to show it with pictures and everything...

Its a couple of days now Jay ::)

Heh - not only do we have to wait for his new hardware to arrive before we can offer this, but we have to work out the regulatory issues prior to being able to do this - rest assured it WILL happen !
A clue then?

Just another day or two. I know, I already said that... Sorry. The tooling bits have been shipped. I thought they would be here by now.

nvme, your two Pocket Mini Kits will be in todays mail! (Tuesday)

Please post back when you do the builds! :)
Jay

Jay, I recieved my pocket mini kit (sorry its taken me a couple days to post) and all I can say is WOW! Very good quality and well documented build thank you! The only thing I dont like about it is that it makes me want to buy more ;D. Just waiting to recieve my diode in the mail now to start my build.

Ha ha! ;D

It is an addicting hobby... And this build is a really nice one! 8-)

I hope your build goes well, and thanks for posting back!
Jay

My kit got in yesterday!! will be posting pictures as soon as i get my diode and housing... i hope it doesn't take the full 5 days. its coming from AL and is going to PA so idk lol. post office around here is slow as heck lol :)

At least the Pocket Mini Kit got there... let us know how the build goes!

CaptainArgon, your Pocket Mini Kit with 'hot option' will get shipped today!

It is set at 120mA's per you request. (blu-ray test load)

Should be an easy assembly with the hot option! :)

Well, i got a new lens, and then it was outputting 190mW :o
Then, something urged me to clean the diode window, then i made it dirtier, and now the dot is fuzzy and it is back to outputting 172mW. :( :'(

Anyone know how to fix this?

Bummer... I don't know. I have never messed with the diode window.

Hopefully it didn't get scratched. I'm sure there is somebody here that can give advice on how to clean it properly. I would say to post a question it the 'Tutorials and Help' section...
