No Longer FS: New Pen Host Kits! Switch board with Spring Option - Nice!

All Gone... (No longer offering these as of 8/1/14 - sorry)

But you can email the supplier who has them: will@laser66.com

His sales page: http://www.laser66.com/html/PointerHost.html

These pen hosts are brand new and very clean.

They would be perfect for building a blu-ray or a red pointer using a FlexDrive with 2 X AAA batteries.

You would have to modify a small board and fit the included momentary switch, add a small spring for contact, etc... but not a problem if you have some basic building skills. (Board not included)

Switch board with spring option:

Here's an option for this build that will make it really easy to do the assembly! It is a blank board, fit for the black plastic switch mounting piece. It has a momentary switch and spring contact already mounted! Add $3 dollars for this option. (see below)

Note: These are available in several different styles: ;)

Single hole:
* Black with chrome clip
* Black with gold clip
* All chrome

(Note: Two hole ones not available any longer) Two hole: (extra hole above the side button hole)
* Black with chrome clip
* All chrome

Two hole: The two hole ones are a little longer at the front. Like 1/4" or so. These would be easier to fit an O-like module. But the O-like module would still need to be shortened. The extra hole can easily be covered with a warning label! :)

The hole is easily covered with a warning label or sticker...

If there is interest in these Pen Hosts, I will stock about 10 at a time, and have them on hand.

* $11 dollars plus $3 dollars shipping. (U.S.)
* Add $3 dollars for each switch board with spring.
* Add $2 dollar shipping for each additional Pen. (U.S.)
* Please read my shipping policy here!

Don't forget lens options!:

* 405-G-1 glass lens mod - $55 31% increase for blu-ray vs AixiZ acrylic! (new) See link in signature!
* 650-G-1 glass lens mod for red! (fit for AixiZ) - $52 25% increase for red vs AixiZ acrylic! (new) Shown here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f64/f...modification-fit-aixiz-25-increase-46332.html

I must warn, if you have not built a Leadlight or a pen build before, I just want to warn you that they are very small builds and do require some decent building skills. Mostly understanding how to set current on a FlexDrive with a proper test load like many other builds, but the smaller the build, the harder it is. Getting the button just right can be a little tricky with pens.

That said, with these brand new kits, you can start with all new parts, and not have to take one apart, possibly causing damage! ;)

These Pen Hosts are easy builds if you have some basic building skills...

Update:

I just got the 'all chrome' ones too. So I have both on hand...

Same price as the black with chrome clip pen hosts. :)

The chrome ones are a little longer at the front, and have an extra tiny hole above the side button that can easily be covered with a label.

I don't get a break on the price unless I buy 50 at a time...

And the switches I just had already and was just giving them away. I don't think they will cost me much if I end up needing more. Maybe .50 cents or so. (I hope)

I have the one (sample) on hand, and can have a many as you want with-in 2 days.

I will definitely give a combined shipping price though...

Just when I think you couldn't come up with anything else I could want this week, you pull out another nice pen host, in a nice matte black no less. It seems all the black pens out here have gold on them, which I just don't like, but this black with silver clip would look great.

These are very clean hosts...

Brand new, no scratches or anything. They are available with or without the small hole above the side button. I will order some without the hole, because I suspect that most will not want the extra hole there...

for the momentary switch, you would wire it in before the flexdrive, correct? positive or negative?

Re: FS: New Pen Host Kits! All Parts Included - Ni

I am offering these as hosts with the parts shown for DIY... I believe I can get chrome ones too! :cool:

So no 'Hot' options or anything, but yes, you would test the switch to find out which contact points will connect when you press the button. Then you know which will be connected to your spring (battery contact), and which will be the lead to your FlexDrive.

You can use a DMM to test for continuity first.

Pens are small, and do require good building skills. Not necessarily impossible if your new, but not considered a really 'easy' build. (IMO)

Ok...

Sounds like there is some interest here, so I will order at least 10 or maybe 20 black with chrome clip. And see about the possibility of chrome as well.

Go ahead and PM me with orders, and I will get a list going for this first order.

Then I will plan on stocking a few for quick shipping! :)

I do have some othere kits that are easy builds! :)

You could start out with the popular 4171 or 3405 host. I have options that include FlexDrives installed and current pre-set if you want...
