Hey here's a great option for these!

Now available...

Switch board with spring option:

Here's an option for this build that will make it really easy to do the assembly! It is a blank board, fit for the black plastic switch mounting piece. It has a momentary switch and spring contact already mounted! Add $3 dollars for this option. (updated to first post)

No... He's paying for a set shipping price. And really... $3 more for all of that, PLUS the customer service provided that is Jayrob... I'd say the ebay listing is a rip off.

No one is forcing you into having great customer service and fast shipping, so don't complain.

Re: FS: New Pen Host Kits! All Parts Shown Included (First Picture) - Nice!

Hey hotshot, really cool of you to post some comments like that in my thread... Sorry you think it's a 'rip off'. But just don't buy from me. No need to go 'bashing my thread'...

The e-bay listing is the same item. He happens to be my supplier. And yes, you can get them cheaper from him direct.

He does not want to sell on LPF because he doesn't have the time for the communication expected here.

Yes, I make a small amount on the turn around. (not getting rich on this deal) People who know and trust me may feel a little more comfortable buying from a trusted LPF member...

He's not Tyler, but I don't think he belongs here...

Re: FS: New Pen Host Kits! All Parts Shown Included (First Picture) - Nice!

Hey Jayrob, going to be ordering a pair of these from you (with switch board option) soon. :D Will be attempting my first build. :D Think I understand everything I have to do except one thing. My question is what is the best way to stick the Aixiz module into the end of the host so it doesn't move around or fall out. A couple of the pen builds I bought pre-built had been glued in and it looked sloppy and moved around. Must be a better way, taking into account that I don't have a lathe or any tools beyond the 'normal' household tools.

Re: FS: New Pen Host Kits! All Parts Shown Included (First Picture) - Nice!

If you find the perfect size wire, you can use some to 'pinch' between the module and host...

One thing I have done before is solder a couple of small spots of solder on the side of the module before I press my diode into it. (because you have to get it really hot to take the solder)

Then just use a small file to custom fit the module.

Either way, in these pen builds, you need a way to get the module back out without messing up your wiring to the driver in case you need to replace the diode. Maybe a brass lens nut (AixiZ glass) would do the trick. But I make a tool that comes in really handy for these type of builds. And builds like my Key Chain 10280...

Hey Jay ! Sorry for the late post I actually got your pens a couple days ago and I put one together the other night. I've been crazy busy with school and such but I only managed to get a few pics up. And I have to say i'm EXTREMELY glad you talked me into getting those push buttons on the blank boards. It would have been a nightmare trying to find and incorporate something for a button without those. I would highly recommend them to anyone because it was definitely worth the extra couple $$. I made a quick little post about my build here ->

Good job with that build...

Thanks for posting back!

Re: FS: New Pen Host Kits! All Parts Shown Included (First Picture) - Nice!

No problem Jay ! I'll try and take more pics but your couple pics up there and the one of mine of the wiring pretty much sums it up haha but if you want me to take a few more I will. Just let me know !

Re: FS: New Pen Host Kits! All Parts Shown Included (First Picture) - Nice!

It's all good...

I really don't think people know that the new board with spring and switch is actually made for the plastic switch mounting piece.

It slides into two slots for a perfect fit...

Re: FS: New Pen Host Kits! All Parts Shown Included (First Picture) - Nice!

Honestly I didn't before you told me haha if I could make a recommendation I would put those pictures of the switch in the OP so you could get the word out a little more. And yes I agree it was a nice fit although mine were a little loose so what I did was put a little dab of hot glu so it pressed in a little tighter. But yes you should really inform people of those buttons because they're a huge help haha. It definitely saved me a ton of time.
