lol i would let you know if i could get it to work.

the correct drivers are the prolific drivers right?
im not getting any data from the unit what so ever i followed the instructions exactly any help on how to trouble shoot it?
also the driver says it is nolonger working if i unplug it and the only way to fix that is to restart the computer. exact error Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
it no longer recognizes the device just says unknown device but it still puts it under usb devices.
i am using windows 7 32bit

update:
got it to work on an xp machine fine ok works on another windows 7 32 bit machine.
is the lpm easily seceptable to rf interference?

Maybe deinstall the driver and reinstall it...
If not it seems that your system has another driver which badly interfer with the laserbee-driver :/

As the Software and drivers work on other computers as you
stated... the problems logically seems lie in the 1st computer
that you had problems with...

We tried an installed LaserBee 2.5W USB with a Cell phone
transmitting at a distance of 1" to 2" from the enclosure and
Thermopile head with no change in power readings.

Maybe deinstall the driver and reinstall it...
If not it seems that your system has another driver which badly interfer with the laserbee-driver :/

I believe that you may be correct... it is often a conflict of
drivers that can cause the LaserBee 2.5W USB drivers not
to install correctly or be disconnected..

hmm ive uninstalled all of the drivers for prolific as i have ham radio gear and i have those installed for control software. and i was thinking about something alot more powerful than rf from a cell phone. more along the lines of power cords or power supplies i wil try my best to keep it away from them but if something like that is unavoidable i may just have to use it in another room with another computer if that is causing it.

I got this on Laserbee's eBay and I couldn't be happier with this product! It is super accurate and reliable and I use it almost every day I definatelly recommend this over any other LPM. The only downside is that is has the supperr cool data logging feature, but I have a mac and the program for the data logging is for a pc On a happier note though.. Lasersbee +1
