Hey Jay!
1" marbles would be awesome with this little kit.
I have a 5/8" one and made a mini light inspired from you. I posted it in the multimedia forum and also posted a link here

Thanks for the tutorial!

Very nice! My first attempt at making one if these failed pretty badly. I think I ended up killing my driver. I wonder how much it would cost to mail a small padded envelope (and a 1" marble) from the US to AU?

If you look at the thread Jayrob has stated that the 1" marbles are out of stock and have been for a while. Haven't been able to find any either.

I'm aware of that, and I'm sure I'm opening up a pandora's box here but I have a few. The catch is the wife is rather partial to them. *If* I can convience her and shipping isn't a small fortune I *might* be able to send you one. Shoot me a PM if you are interested. Like I said no promises but I might be able to help you.

Hmmm... I'll message the e-bay seller and see if those are the translucent ones. If so, I can get them and crackle them...

Update: He did get back to me and said that they are the translucent ones. But I saw that they are over $5 bucks each. Which is more than I want to pay. At first, I thought he was selling 3 for $5 bucks from the first picture in his add...

i just bought some 1" marbles from coconuts in bst. def gonna make me one.

me too. My 1.5 year old nephew was AMAZED by my Lumia this halloween, so I am making him a nightlight with a few marbles and a 20mw 405...

Coconuts is the good stuff too. He had my box ready to ship before I even paid and sent me a tracking # within an hour of my paypal.

Now the question is: to Crackle or not to Crackle?

Just put the marbles in your oven at 500 degrees for an hour or two, then put them right into a bucket of cold water...

Hmmm. That seems easy enough...... Now to find them for under $5-6 each. :)

Thanks,
Kevin
