I cant tell you what current you should choose. Measure how many mA it draws at its rated voltage and choose the nearest lower max current. I know it is common to find 0.5W pumps in 50mw modules and up, they should take up to 500mA.

Just reading through the 7 colour laser threads, I think I will have to either get a lower power green module as I dont think the 50mw will go down to the 5-10mw thats suggested...or change the PHR for a 6x GGW.

Time to splash out on a 6x me thinks...he he he!


P.S. how do i measure the current draw at its rated voltage with my DMM? I use a single ultrafire 3.6v

Set the negative lead on your dmm to COM and the positive lead to the 10A socket. Turn the knob to 10A DC.
Negative side of the battery to the negative side of the driver. Positive side of the battery to the positive lead on your dmm. Negative lead for the dmm to the module's case.

Here is another teaser video. I totaly dig this driver! Sorry that my camera doesn't do that well in the dark. It also can't pick up enough contrast so there is actualy more colors to this rainbow effect than you will see in this video.




Edit: Actualy it looks like it just doesn't pick up 405nm so non of the violet comes through.

A batch of boards are in production and should arrive soon, and I've gotten most of the components in the mail.

Still there are a few interested people who hasn't chosen any max currents, please do it asap :)
I'm also adding a few accessories like buttons and isolation pads in the first post which are necessary for the drivers. Let me know what you want.
