FS: Full Colour Driver Extension for the White Fusion kit

Re: Feeler: full colour driver extension for the White Fusion kit

A batch of boards came in today and I will start working now. I am still waiting on some parts tho, but I should have enough to make 5-6 drivers. I will send PMs to each one of you on the list when I get to your driver.

I'm definitely down for one of these, but not for several months. This looks awesome!

I added a mini internal fan to this build today and ran if for an hour. the whole thing was drawing anywhere from 350mA to 750mA from the battery which is a 11.1V 900maH LiPo so the hour is about it before you start seeing the green dim down some. It's loaded with a GGW red and violet and a 30mw greenie. The heat sink is custom made from a CPU heat sink and took way to much time to make and offer but worth doing for personal builds like this.

I'm getting better at knowing what all the options are now so the effects keeps getting better and better the more I use it.

maybe it's time for a new video.

cheers

Wow, even a key interlock, bringing safety to the table I see. I'm just going to be putting larger strips of copper on the driver, hopefully that keeps it cool enough for several minute duty cycles.

Yea you can get away with not having a fan for 15-20 min I bet. I had a copper strip that was accordion folded between regulators and then sliced to make fins that worked for my flex mods. I think this driver setup stays cooler overall so the same thing would work well.

Really looking forward to receiving my driver, but I just want to clarify something about the green module.

I know I have to remove the stock driver from the module...no problem

Now if I am right the pinout on the IR diode is the reverse of the red diode..correct?

Mine isnt going into a white fusion kit so I dont have to worry about the case positive business...correct? (the module is going into a heatsink which will be on a plastic mount onto a acrylic base plate)

P.S. that little build really is great! but not great enough to distract me from my little project...im getting the urge for a set of scan pro's :D

I'm going to look into getting some very small fans and running one pulling and one pushing into the little clear case. With a dust filter of course.

Daguin, MISTERWILLING and jaycey's drivers have been shipped, DarkWerewolf420's driver tomorrow. I have started on jayrob and sightfx's drivers but I can't proceed until the rest of the parts arrive, which should be pretty soon.
Slipstream's driver is ready but I'm not sure who will pay for it since it will go to sightfx...

Yes the IR diode s pinout is reverse from the red.

As long as the green and red diodes are insolated from one another you will be fine. Worst that would happen if there is contact is that the green would not fire up at all because it's current would be shorted to ground. OK worst would be if you left it on that way for a while and burned up your driver.

The White Fusion kits come with the green insolated so there is no worry there.

I can't wait to see your setup. I like to see new designs. I've made so many kits my brain gets stuck in a rut :D

Here is a pic with the fan mounted:

Here is the fan:
Ultra Miniature Delta BFB0305HA 5VDC Brushless Blower-The Electronic Goldmine

Edit: The fan uses 5V .17A so I am running it off the 5V TTL input for the PIC. I havn't seen any noise issues or issues with drawing too much power and letting the smoke out of anything. I have ran this setup several times a day like a kid with a new toy on Christmass so I'm sure it's a safe addition.

I don't have any air filters on it but I am hoping to seal up the sled. I had a glass window over the output to keep air flow from comming directly in but I didn't like the loss.

Does anyone know of a AR coated flat lens I could use? Maybe even a small expander with AR that would fit in the sled.

If I seal the sled and use a rubber tube from the module lenses to the sled input I should never have to worry about cleaning the inner optics. Only the output lense would be exposed.

Thanks,

Ryan
