Just got my module in for my DIY greenie!! Very nice kit!, I got the 100mw module and used some head sync compound when I put it all together.
So far I have run it for about 5 minutes non stop without any heat issues.
I have bought another kit to assemble for a friend they were so impressed with it.
Perfect solution for a good price..
Thanks again Jay!

Your Welcome!

Thanks for posting back... and with pictures too! :)

Heat sync? That bring up some interesting thoughts. Should be heat sink. BTW, I think the B/S/T threads of interest link to this thread is not working, b/c I tried a few times and it just took me to the main homepage.

Yeah... I'm sure styropyro is planning on fixing the links in his BST 'threads of interest'.

The links have to be re-directed to the new forum...

Hello Jayrob,

Just wondering with the "Bypass the Switch" part.. what does that do?

i am a noobie at putting together lasers.

i'm going to purchase a 40~50mW module from Susie.

ordered a green laser from DX, customs got it.. :( wasted 50bux. so this should be the "legal" way to get them into australia.

Thanks, From Cain.

EDIT - SORRY!, Now i know what this means!, for the switch at the back of the host! SILLY ME!.

Will most likely buying this kit sometime Jayrob!

Thanks for pointing that out Flight, I'm sure no one had any clue what I meant..
I'll be sure and use heat SINK from now on..

Just received my kit from Jayrob. This is my first laser, so I am a noob. The laser was easy to build. I order the module from o-like a 150mw. I also put the Green Tritium marker in the host. The laser works very well. Jay responded to all my questions and was patient with me being a noob. Overall I will give it a 9 out of 10. I am very pleased with the laser. I would recommend this setup

Congrats man, on your success. Green really is bright and at higher power as well.

hey Jay,

I'm wonder if its possible to make the front piece a bit shorter, so that the glass lens can be fitted in.

that way we can have a nice aperture as well as glass lens for protection!

Yes, I could do that, but then it would not work without the glass lens...

Also, having a small aperture is only to reduce the amount of possible dust. It has no effect on the beam or dot. However the glass does have an effect on the beam and dot. It also gives some reflection that you would notice in the dark.

That's why I recommend the custom front piece. The glass option was just mentioned when somebody was complaining about the price of the kit. And it gave a cheaper option...

As an alternative dust cap idea, I have found that just gluing an AixiZ focus ring onto the front with some JB Weld or some thermal adhesive makes a nice way to use the small dust caps that we are used to.

See pictures of this idea in my Mini Mag green kit thread:
