635nm "looks" brighter at the same power output than 650nm. You will only notice the color difference if you have them shining next to each other, but 635 is easier to "see."

I have a 635nm Atlasnova pointer. Not only is the 635nm bright, but the dot is quite small and well collimated for a red pointer.

I have compared this to a 5mW 650nm Sure Electronics module (thanks, Dave) and the difference is readily apparent.

I'd get this if I didn't have the exact same laser already.

This is a great little pointer at a really great price. Especially, if you use them (or will use them) in lecture, this is pure "win"

Yes, and it's typical of a "<5mW" laser. 3mW is certtainly less than 5mW.

It's still much brighter than a <5mW 650nm.

Well, I was going to post a link to my 635 vs 660 thread, but apparently the search function said f*ck sarge. If you can find my thread, the pics will be good to show the difference.
