I got the 405g1 and compared it to my 445 glass and damn it brighter(G1). Has a rectangle beam though (Expected) and a slight rectangle above it (Weird but expected). The 445 glass has a lot nicer dot. The Only thing I would suggest improving (I dont know if you can) but drill it more so you dont have to screw in so far as the nut goes so far in, IDK how a focus ring would work with it.

This was on my 445 build.

jayrob, I have a question for you. Will the custom focus knob( with the thinner exit aperture ) fix the problem with the 445 diode splatter? Check my picture in this thread. Thanks.
 
I have not done any experimenting, but you can just use a small washer type disk in front of the lens to experiment with...

You can put it into the AixiZ focus ring before threading it onto the lens.

If it works, then I'm sure I can fashion something out of aluminum...

I was wondering if i could get the stainless steel 18650 kit with the EzFocus Adapter for the Aixiz 445nm lens. If you could check out the guide im using and make sure what im getting will work that would be awesome.
