Re: FS: 70mW+ 405nm Blue-Violet Burning "BR"Laser
Hi,
First of all, great product. Looks very solid. Could you (or anyone else) post a picture of the box in your hand please?
Second, since your pointer seems pretty well made I'd like to share some toughts about future features!. (which I will try eventually myself when these diodes drop in price)
I know this diode is capable of lasing in red and IR too. So my first thought was, why not use a dual mode driver, or maybe even use the IR and a crystal (and filter) to make a triple color laser! You'd be the first one with triple mode. Dunno if it is possible to shine the blue/violet and red through the crystal of the green though, nor do I know how to get only the crystal and the filter without resorting to buying (the cheapest) green pointer available. I know I would be willing to trade of some output in blue and red if I got a triple color pointer for it in return. Ahh well, a guy has to have dreams don't he?
Second feature (or 3rd
) I always wanted my pointer to have an ajustable light output (mW). In my opinion a slider pot that would be limited within the (tested) range of the diode would be the perfect solution, but I would settle for anything (that is protected against blowing up the diode though) You might be able to fit the slider on the side or back end of the box.
Some guy posted his dual mode driver schematics but I can't link directly so you'd have copy it over and remove the spaces

I am thinking about buying one, I know the price is very reasonable, but 160$ (or in my case 101.6 Euro) is still a lot of money. I also fear a bit that it could be confiscated by the customs since lasers are not allowed in The Netherlands. Last point would be that I only want a 5 mW if it has to be a fixed output laser, i don't want to burn things
Jus like a nice ray of light to play with without having to worrie too much about reflections and stuff.
