FS: 405-G-1 Glass Lens Mod - 31% Increase vs AixiZ!

Jay I got my parts, your beautiful little 405-G-1 lenses and Aurora heatsinks:drool:. I love your work man;) and as always thank you so much for your help and service I really appreciate it!

Thank you very much for your support!

Glad you like the items... :)

G1 lens lpm tests vs the regular aixiz...

~1.3W 445nm kryton bumped up almost to 1.6W.

~550mW 405nm bumped to ~650mW.

~1.2W Ehgemus 445nm to ~1.5W.

I'm impressed:)

Thanks for the rep, and anytime:beer:

I wanted to put to rest my suspicion that I got ripped off the first time that I bought on lpf... guy sold the laser as having a g1 lens and used a picture from DTR as proof.

The ehgemus never did hit 1.5W when I finally got an LPM, and the guy claimed that it must have been something I did.

Later on when I tested with an aixiz lens from another laser, results were still the same.

I tested with a g2 lens from stevie the scammer diezie and results went up to around ~1.45W.

I got a g1 lens with the james bond gun from jnhowett... since I care more about beam specs on that build I swapped with a regular aixiz lens, and I'm 100% sure it is a g1.. slightly bigger, with a golden lip... and of course there is the performance boost.

I figured the results might be interesting for others to see, in deciding whether to get a g1 lens or not, hence the post:)

Now I just need to figure out how to get a superglued aixiz lens out of the kryton focus adapter:o

Hmmmm I've decided to finally get one of these for my 445 and share it with my new 12x build. Pm sent

You wont be disappointed.:D These are the best lenses to use for 405nm.

I would not use any other lens for High power 405nm.

Nice Tight beam and Not to mention THe Huge power increase.

My 405-G1 arrived!

Had to dremel the end becuase the focus range is so close to the diode! , and my host didnt allow for adjustments that close..

I neglected to take a "before shot" but it was putting out 441mW (300mW 635nm diode) and this is what it puts out with the 650-G1
Pretty respectable!

Here is my 405nm before the 405-G1

And after?

My Jayrob 18650 445nm kit before the 405-G1

Now thats some increase!

Glad i got these lenses now, so if you want MOAR POWAARR , this is the way to go...thanks Jayrob!

Thanks for showing those meter comparisons...

Glad you like the lenses!

Just got the lens! Took 1.5 weeks to get to Aus! Did some initial testing and the dot is not as clean as a normal ar coated lens but it is really awesome! Can't wait to get my LPM and do some testing.

1 question tho. I wasn't able to screw the lens into my kryton groove to get it into focus. Are there any tips for this?

Thanks!

A Couple of things it could be.

But First its Not anything to do with THe Lens Or Lens Nut that Jay Makes.

It Could be that the Threads In your Kryton are Not taped Deep enough so the Lens Can Screw in closer to the diode.

Or the Lens is Screwed to dep into your focusing Kryton Ring and there for not allowing it to screw in deeper closer to the diode.

THe 405-G-1 lens has a Very Short Focal Length. It is Much Shorter then the Regular Aixiz Lens so it needs to sit closer to the diode. This is one of the reason why this Lens gives out more Power because it catches more of the Light.:)

Try Threading the Lens in without screwing the lens first into the Kryton Focusing Ring.

See if that works. If that works its an Easy fix. By using alittle NONE Permanent thread Lock in the Kryton focusing ring and screwing the G1 lens nut not so deep in the threads it will alow to screw in closer to the diode.:D Very simple to do.

If this is not it then you will have to re thread the threads On the Kryton deeper with a Bottom Out tap so the Lens can Screw in Correctly or closer to the diode. ( IN other word the Threds stop short and need to go in a little deeper.)

Let me Know what your results are if without the Kryton focusing ring on can you screw the lens in to focus correctly and we can go from there.:)

Those are all good tips from lazeeree...

Another thought, is that possibly the Kryton threads are a little tighter tolerence vs an AixiZ module. The lens is mounted into an AixiZ lens nut, and is tested with an AixiZ module. And it will fit an AixiZ module for sure.

But the Kryton is custom made and threaded. Hopefully it can still fit the AixiZ lens nut. The metal lens nuts are not as forgiving as the plastic AixiZ lenses.

One other thing, if you happen to be trying to use a spring, then that is the problem. A spring will not work with these, unless it is about half the length. But it is better to just use Teflon tape, and no spring...
