These are all SOLD OUT. Jayrob still offers these in both heat sink and kit form. Visit the Laser pro shop to buy one from him.

I've got two feet of copper bar stock here i'm going to turn into heat sinks for the 18650 cree Aurora host tomorrow. They'll be made to fit an aixiz module. If anyone is unfamiliar with the host, it will fit into these two:
DealExtreme: $10.90 C6 DIY Cree LED Flashlight Full Casing/Shell with Driver Pill (2*CR123A/1*18650)
DealExtreme: $16.41 Aurora C6 Cree P4 LED Flashlight (1*18650/2*CR123A)

The first is $6 cheaper, is just the host casing with no logos, and is the best option IMO
They are made from 110 copper round bar stock.

The last one foot bar yielded 17. so accounting for screw ups, i'm going to assume these two feet will yield 30 sinks.
I'm only going to take 20 for now, and will wait until they are finished and i have a definite number before I sell the last of them.
This is the last time i'm going to make heat sinks for this host for public sale, as my activity on here will slow down as I begin my clinical rotations for school. Just not enough days in the week :(

Heat sinks should be finished and start shipping sometime at the end of this week. I'll start taking orders, and heat sinks will be shipped in the order received.

They'll look like this:
Price: $17 Shipped in the USA
International add $2

Wow. That was quick.

Please forgive the OT post but I have noticed that you can buy 145 Tellurium Copper (more expensive than 110) and 147 Sulfur Copper (cheaper than 110) which seems to be made specifically for ease of machining compared to 110 Copper. Is there a reason not to use them?

Man why do you need to make heatsinks for a host that I have been selling kits for since Sept. of 2009?

There are so many other hosts. I have seen that you always have your own ones that you have offered in the past.

So why the change?

I mean your prices are awesome yeah, but why the same host as my kits? Why not a different host?

I replied to Jayrob as he sent me this message in a PM 2 minutes before this post.
I don't plan to sell these regularly. I simple had extra 7/8" copper.
I was however to get more than I had expected out of this 1 foot bar. I should have 5 more available. Though they are going to be $20 ea. as copper really is a pain to work with (the module hole was anyways)

monopolistic competition is what makes the world a great place. i dont think a handful of heat sinks are going to hurt anyone.

Jayrob ive read your threads and see that you make some awesome stuff and we all respect that but this comment strikes me personally very strangely and I would think most others as well.

Im all for being friendly on the forum but if someone can make the same product and sell it for a fraction of the price then by all means it should be done. And good for the person who was able to pull it off. This kind of friendly competition can only benefit the laser community. If you want to come out with something even better or less expensive to compete....do!

It's just common courtesy between sellers on LPF not to copy each others designs. Showing mutual respect to each other...

FP and I use the same SS host, but he and I talked about it first. They are different designs.

No patent or anything, just common courtesy. Try not to step on each others toes.

There is no end to the different hosts and designs that can be used...

are these not the same hosts that yobresal is selling COMPLETED for not much more than your kit jayrob? I know you dont sell completed lasers so its not entirely the same, but that would take a bigger jab at your kits than a couple heatsinks. This is all of course if they are the same hosts...

Mo is not even selling whole kits, just a dozen or so heat sinks.

There is no need to pull the 'respect' card in this situation. You're kind of over reacting. You're saying that he needs to talk to you before he makes a new heat sink? Come on now.

The thought had never crossed my mind, but subconsciously I made a point
to not use 'similar' let alone the same..

Besides, how unique would our lasersbe, if they looked the same?
